The JBL Party Box 1000 - Good For Mobile DJs?

This all in one speaker system is perfect for mobile design who use controllers like Pioneer, Denon, Traktor, Allen & Heath, Vestax, Hercules, Numark, Rane...any dj mixer for that matter. Even an analog mixer.
There is a concern about delay and there is some lag time since the sound gets processed by the onboard processor. I tried having my mid high cabinets on at the same time and there was a very noticeable delay. So the pb1000 may not play well with other speakers but is said to be able to pair well with other pb1000s.
The delay takes some getting used to when beatmatching but after a few minutes I got used to it.
I find this speaker to be very musical and it is bringing fun back to my sets. And it opens up possibilities for gigs since instead of dragging around two cabinets and a 140 pound subwoofer I can grab this 72 pound all in one speaker and go.
The volume is huge and the clarity is outstanding. I would live to see a version 2 of this where they live the silly pads, add a mixer, remove the processor or make it faster, add some proper xlr inputs and wider wheels.
This system as it is rocks, but there is potential for so, so much more. With some minor tweaks this could be the speaker of choice for mobile djs all over the world.
The 12" sub woofer delivers on punch and rolling smoothness. I come from a long time of having an 18" 1800 watt sub, so I'm serious when I say this satisfies the bass monster in me.

Yes I just bought the JBL 710 PartyBox I used KRK 7 for my basement… but this 710 is 800 watts with amazing bass too …my mixer is a Pioneer DJ DJ RX3 I’m planning to buy a second 710 … will eventually do weddings so on .but yes I could not find any DJ mixing info on the PartyBox .. I found it new at $599US definitely will get a second one .. thanks for the info Dirk, Salem, Oregon

For anyone who wants to dj with this with a controller that doesn't have bluetoooth, you'll need to use the 1/4" guitar input. Otherwise when you use the RCA inputs there is a delay from the on-board processor that makes beatmixing awful. I don't know for sure but I think the guitar input bypasses the processor and therfore no delay.

That's interesting.. I use two of these partyboxes using a Numark 4Trak with Traktor DJ on a mac and the connection between the 4trak to the partyboxes is XLR to RCA to the first one, and RCA to RCA between them and I don't have any noticeable delays. There will be delay if I connect the partyboxes using TWS.

Yes it is a awsome dj all in one speaker i use 2 of these for 20-50 people gigs and i have boosted the hights and the sub output through the app and for bigger gigs i use 4x of these 2 per side and 2x jbl prx 715xlf subs per side and these are amazing.

@@vintagestereos nah not at all cuz i run it through a mixer but if you are talking about the bluetooth then yeah it has some delay

One of these PB1K's are typically too much for the average consumer. Two of them in TWS stereo mode is not equal to x2 the output as most would assume/think. It's like having any two stereo paired BT speakers of any brand, it's more than double the sound. So if one of these are already packing too much sound for you, two off them will blow your eardrums out of your head since there's no escape when the sound stage is done properly. It's like attending a music festival in front or near where the loud industrial speakers are situated. They will hurt quit a bit especially if your not used to 90+db
