I gotta be honest, I get jealous super super easily however, every time it happens I try to look at the situation from an outsiders perspective and most of the time I find that I’m overreacting. It doesn’t make the feeling go away but it definitely stops me from taking actions and letting it out on somebody who doesn’t deserve my hate. Having this control and being able to do so feels very liberating

Jealousy is too often used in a negative manner... "Jealousy eats the body and anger burns the liver. Refrain from these two as you would avoid a lion." ~ Baha'u'llah, Baha'i Faith
@Madmok1285 жыл бұрын
Not when you control it. Nothing is more liberating than never giving someone else that kind of control over you. I don’t get jealous because I know there’s nobody else out there like me. Besides, not reacting to it irritates others more than yourself. Believe it

@@luiromde Learn to know yourself, learn what qualities and what flaws you have, that you have your own ''queendom'' where competition can't exist because you end up learning how unique you truly are, not in an arrogant way but with clarity and objectivity. To overcome jealousy, you also need to give freedom to the ones you love to make their own choices in life, even if that choice is to break up with you. Nothing in this world belongs to you, nothing is certain, and trying to maintain stability only ends up hurting us more. What also helps with jalousy is practicing unconditionnal love for every being, especially the ones we hate or make us jealous. It all takes pratice.

I am a jealous person, and I don't agree that Jealousy is a necessary thing in a relationship. This guy focuses too much on the Genghis Khan than on what jealousy can really do to a relationship if not controlled. He should look up on the Etruscans, and see how relationships and parenthood worked very well 2500 years ago.

'without jealousy we wouldnt have love' Just to be clear, he means biologically speaking if love is a new construct due to resulting chemical reactions.. Not in a contemporary sense re our current feelings Unless he doesnt mean this, in which case, its total nonsense

How is it sick that the glue of our society is love and pair bonding? Jealousy is the emotion by which we protect and maintain this.

He talked about it in the presentation giving the example of a guy giving his female co-worker a better gift than he gave his partner. It would also involve things like having greater emotional connection with another woman compared to his partner, or showing more affection, admiration, attention to her than his partner.

An interesting view from a western perspective and certain lifestyles. Boyfriend / Girlfriend culture creates different issues, or expectations of the materistic education. What is it like in for example in the Muslim world or China ? The Alpha male the dominant species, the Beta female can be more emotional or spiteful.
