And the few that have were not bitter, hostile breakups. None got or asked for alimony. As well, none were super rich either, so there’s that. But I have no personal experience with divorce. Married the best man the first time around. Of course, I waited until after college and after I had sowed my wild oats. I have never felt like I was missing out on anything. My family doesn’t seem to do divorce either. So what do I know?

​@julieloucalcote1368 "Old saws" is the phrase. You are correct and additionally if the man shows costs in life where the financials favored her status, then the divorcing wife might pay the husband. But frankly alimony is an old saw. People still pull that excuse out even though it doesn't apply very oftenthese days . Child support is different. He would have likely had high support to be paid. But saying that out loud isn't appropriate if you want to keep your reputation clear with your family.

A very true statement. A higher power puts the man that has it all to a test. And it comes down to what that man chooses to do going forward or chooses not to do. Those being tested in that moment must choose wisely and whatever follows will either take everything away or humble the man to appreciate the things in his life that money can not buy. True love and happiness along with class, are priceless. Money is the root of all evils. My condolences to Maria's family, most of all the children that will grow up and know all that happened when they were so very young. I hope they can overcome the tragedy and move forward in these unprecedented times.

The kids often go to the mother's family. But authorities consider several factors. In this case 1. The father (the accused) was raising the kids with his mother since he was out on bail before the conviction 2. The mother of the deceased is not alive 3. The family of the deceased (father, sister, brother) live in Puerto Rico. Authorities will rarely uproot children and send them far away from where they call home. However, the sister of the deceased. has at one point threatened to go to court for the custody of the children. So far they have not done so probably because it is costly and a long shot.

Our sons were in the same childcare together at a church and every time we saw each other, she had a beautiful smile on her face. An anesthesiologist goes to college. 4 years. Then goes to medical school. 4 years. Then 4 years of anesthesiology training. Then does an internship, maybe a year. Then a residency of about 3 years. It might take them 16+ years to get out of that and start practicing. A CNRA gets a nursing degree and then trains in anesthesiology for a couple of years. 6-7 years of training. 2-3 of it in anesthesiology. You’re not paying a practitioner for doing it right. You’re paying them for their medical expertise when things go wrong. I had heart surgery 5 years ago and the waiver I signed with the huge heart hospital said in bold uppercase print, “BAYLOR HEART HOSPITAL DOES NOT EMPLOY NURSE ANESTHETISTS TO ADMINISTER ANESTHESIA.”

The use of narcan showed that he has planned this out prior to killing her.
