100% agree about the "invisible numbers". Late 90s I used to set challenges for myself back when we had no training modes etc., like "beat each max difficulty CPU opponent while having the max possible handicap and not lose more than 25% health each fight". Yeah it was hard, and it sometimes really got to me when I couldn't make it work, or had bad days, but within a week or two I had improved so much that I knew the game (Gundam Wing Endless Duel) inside and out.

Appreciate you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾, lool I feel everyone did strange personal challenges before then introduced trophies LOOL 100stock 4 person smash PS... YOOO you know endless duel, iv been trying to find a boxed SNES version of that game as a collection piece, LOVED IT

@@ChiliDayAir Definitely, great game! Fantastic gateway game too. Used to play it online back in the day through ZBattle. There was a small but tight-knit community on the GameFAQS forums. Did you know you can do air supers with Heavy Arms, Sandrock, Mercurius etc. by holding an attack button before you jump, then using a second attack button for the super input? It's a glitch that IME doesn't really unbalance the game much.

@@ROTTERDXM straight up I wasn't old enough to be busting out tech back in the day... I would just mash and watch the anime, then go back to mashing. 1000% a piece I need to own lol

Im having such a hard time getting anywhere in 2D fighters , im decent at Tekken and DOA . But im absolute trash and don't feel like im progressing and just get full combo'd 😢
@ChiliDayAir Жыл бұрын
When I hear I'm decent at Tekken... You sound like you have fundamentals down " punish, spacing... Etc" just worry about small victories, like anti airing consistently and get your flow going... The W's will come I have faith in you 🙏🏾
@neoconker2k8 Жыл бұрын
@Chili_P Yeah, In Tekken, things like spacing and punishing were things I focused on. I just started my 2D journey with KOFXV and DBF and I find myself struggling with distance of my attacks and never feel like im close enough to hit , closing the gap is hard as I can't rely on sidestepping
@ChiliDayAir Жыл бұрын
@@neoconker2k8 Dope... DBF and KOF are up tempo games so don't get discouraged if the progress is a bit slower. For DBF I found early success with rushing down after using beam assist just to understand dashing normals and lows... Just to avoid getting bulldoged lool

I hate the Internet disconnectors. They ruin the game cuz when you don't quit and you finally can beat em, they're DC and my win doesnt count. Wasted time.

1000% ... It's so frustrating, but it's kinda bittersweet since you actually did so well you made someone quit. Don't let that discourage, those losers always gonna stay beneath you 👊🏾

@@ChiliDayAir Yeah I'm usually thinking exactly that. I don't rage quit but to make someone frustrated that they pull the plug. It's funny.

I mean I've improved in the years I've been playing, but not winning still keeps me forever tilted. If I can't beat someone after 5 matches, I don't wanna sit there for another 50. But beating someone who can't beat me doesn't feel good either. If I feel like the games are fair and both of us are doing well, then I want to play. I stopped entering tournaments because I can't deal with these kids who have no life except to play fighting games. Shit pisses me off.

I'm with you... If the skills between me and my opponent is close enough I feel eager to play them again because I know I'm getting quality matches, but if they are way under me in skill I won't even do a run back

@@ChiliDayAir For sure! I just wanna be able to face people much better than me without quitting after 2 matches lmao my worst habit, I know, but I have a pathological fear of helplessness, and getting put in a box round after round and not being able to do anything about it is legitimately triggering lmao

@@ZawaOnKZbin straight up you aren't the only one that get put in the box... I always fall into my bad habits and sometimes it happens after I dominate the previous round lool I'll just forget the strategy

But I'm not improving. Every night I play this f************ fighting game and I lose, every single time, every single f***************** night without any progression. A lost is a lost sir. No amount of goal can make me feel better if I lose even if I lose. Stop spewing nonsense.
@ChiliDayAir10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately frustration and lose are synonymous with fighting games... Ya it's annoying to constantly lose and alot of the advice on the platform is easier said than done. But your progress truly comes down to perception. Sometimes the big flashing win screen is the satisfying feeling we are chasing but even just executing your game plan ie "landing a punish, or properly anti airing a jump spammer" THAT is 100% improvement... You will get better, you will rank up.
