As a resident of Minneapolis, the secret to sealing the burger to prevent juices and cheese seeping out, is to have the bottom patty being slightly larger than the top patty. Wider specifically not thicker. This way when you are sealing you can 'fold' the bottom patty up and over the edge of the top patty.

That's good news - cheers! I don't want to sound like every other asshole on the internet, but have you heard of Wim Hof? Awesome breathing methods to calm anxiety, similar to meditation - he's a bit extreme tho lol. And anti-inflammatory herbs like turmeric, ginger, magnesium and fish oil will help as well. My daily is turmeric and a vitamin called Stress Guard from Oregons wild harvest - B vitamins and ashwagandha and other stuff. I only say this because I have anxiety and these help but to each their own - just throwing it out there in case you haven't heard. Best wishes.

@@Sackmatters Hey no prob! Honestly my life changed after I learned a lot of yoga techniques. It helps anyone and everyone - even the MMA fighters do it. I understand the feeling - although I don't have the medical issues you said you do. It's an overwhelming feeling, Its helplessness. But I've thankfully been able to minimize it and conquer it through breathing techniques and (maybe placebo) vitamins. And I hope you do too. The best cure is to stay active, eat well, get sunlight, be social, and dont give a F what others say! Do you and do it well my friend. Peace!

@@johnb7046 The problem is I’ve been over active with my condition. @@Sackmatters Yea, physical damage sometimes can mess with things. Keep stretching, and maybe the vitamins will help or not. But the key is stretching. Like I said, yoga changed my life. Slowly but surely, even if youre active, you can overcome the everyday pain. I suck at pain management, so you do you!

I have found putting ground beef in the mixer and letting it go for 5 minutes with butter, salt, pepper, and egg, and some bread crumbs makes it very sticky and easy to shape or pinch together. And it stays juicy/moist. You can add a little sauce for flavor too, just not too much or it gets too wet and it won’t stick together.

According to Burger Scholar George Motz, the name Jucy Lucy came from the first guy who ordered one. He asked for a burger that was different so the fry cook put the cheese in the middle of two sealed patties. The patron took a bite, the cheese ran everywhere and he said "BOY THAT'S ONE JUICY LUCY!"

I LOVE stuffed burgers! However, the way I stack them is a little different. Rather than just stuffing them with cheese, I like to put a layer of baby Swiss, a layer of sautéed mushrooms, and then another layer of either baby Swiss, provolone, or Havarti (because white cheeses compliment the mushrooms best). On top of the burger, through on a few slices of a nice smoky bacon and just a LITTLE bit of sautéed jalapenos (or, for people with a high tolerance, habanero or ghost peppers--the natural smoky flavor of the ghost peppers is perfect for a burger if you have the tolerance for it!).

Tip if you make it! To help with the cheese not oozing out of the edges, freeze the cheese for like half an hour before you put it in the burgers! The cheese will be a tad frozen and that extra bit of time for it to start melting helps with oozing tremendously! @@neoLover23 Over react much? I'm not in anyway affiliated with any kind of nationalist group. You also don't know the color of my skin. I don't much feel like putting my safety at risk with all that's going on right now. So get your head out of your soyboy ass.

Glad we're getting back to more normal recipes. Those last two were how I feel about the rock group, KISS. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Do any other OG fans hate this new "ads in the middle of the video" thing? It feels so god damn intrusive.

That's a Juicy Lucy like those made a Matt's. The 58 Club offers a variety of cheeses to choose from in their Juicy Lucy. Both are very tasty. Both Matt's and the 58 club claim to be the home of the original Juicy Lucy.

Made this tonight and OMG my kids went nuts for it. We added some caramelized onions to the top too.

I made Jucy Lucy sliders the other day. Smuched down meatballs and put some Habenaro Slices (cut to the round of a shot glass) and a dab of steak sauce in the middle of the 2 patties and closed the edges and formed to be uniform. I pit this on a bun with a pickle slice and coleslaw.

At Matt’s Bar where the Jucy Lucy was created, they do cover the burger but they squirt water in there to help steam the burger as it cooks.
