Exactly, so many people think there are no bears anywhere near them in some places in the US. I've looked up bear sightings in their area and found several. Black bears can be found almost anywhere in the continental US. Anywhere their nose leads them in search of mates, food and a territory of their own. Those of us who do live in prime black bear country, know the (small) risk of running into one and are prepared for such things. We also prefer to live in God's country where the natural beauty and peace is very appealing and still safer than any city these days. We're also generally self reliant and prepared for any predators, human or other. We also rely on each other instead of any public services. I wouldn't live anywhere else. And we all have each other's backs here. I'm not leaving for anything. I know a good place when I land in one. 😊👍

@metalmamasue3680Ай бұрын
There's a balance in nature, between predators and prey and all animals are important and here for a reason. We can't be so arrogant to think another animal deserves to be eradicated for our own convenience. Look up a short video here on YT called How Wolves Change Rivers. It's great for understanding why all animals have a purpose and how nature functions best with all animals. Humans have been coexisting with animals for centuries. We have to be smart, careful and prepared to defend ourselves if necessary. Bears have the same right to the planet as we do. There's plenty of places you can live where there are no grizzlies, in the US, but not many places where there's no black bears. Most of them will leave you alone. States like mine have a high black bear population, around 17,000 of them but attacks are rare. A robust hunting season helps, i believe to keep them afraid of us. There's been no recorded fatalities from bear attacks in PA. You are statistically more likely to be killed by dogs, horses, cows and even furniture accidents than by a bear attack. Should we get rid of them too ? And cars gotta go. Too dangerous. Life is risky. it's all about being prepared and deciding which risks are personally acceptable to us as individuals. I've lived most of my life in black bear country and never had a problem with them, but i am prepared in case.

I live in a fairly crowded part of the northeast, but on the edge of a huge forest preserve. This very action may cause the majority of the Bear's too gain a more respectful attitude towards Humans again. By instilling a Fear factor towards us again? Again your mentioning of the Bears increased sightings in area's formally Not seen in or occupied by them? Does very much definitely indicate they are expanding thier Ranges again. These incidences are especially true? Being that the Bear's are Female's with Cubs, or younger Male's that have been forced out of more populated areas of habitat?
