In this video I talk about the Jurassic World movie that we'll never get to see. This is the dinosaur script written BEFORE Colin Trevorrow came in. Here the Indominus Rex did not exist and instead a new monster dino was made up from scratch called the Malusaurus. Hope you all enjoy! :D

I love the Malusaurus! Also, I agree about the human-dinosaur weapon team-up idea; what we got in Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom (to an extent) is satisfying enough. Sure, Blue is more compassionate than the other siblings, but she's still an animal. One that would easily attack if/when provoked. It kind of reminds me of how Elephants are "domesticated" over the course of human history. We've used them, yet they're still dangerous animals. The writers deserve more credit than they've been given, in my opinion!

Yeah, I kinda do like it. It'd really be awesome if the raptors do turn on the bad guys, who try to exploit them, to symbolically show that they have a free will like humans do. IF Dr. Grant saw that, he might come to respect and admire them instead of just fearing them.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how JW handled the story, rather than this alternate draft. This alternate version seems to remove the animal like behaviors and qualities from their "real" dinosaurs, which the fictional Maliasaurus was supposed to be, by inventing a new monster, rather than treating it like an animal, like JP & TLW did with their dinosaurs. And while I do love the idea of inventing a new "real" dinosaur that was previously unknown to science, it shouldn't automatically be treated like some new dragon like monster out to kill everything in sight. Also it almost makes the raptors a bit more robotic in their behaviors and less like believable animals that are doing what they do to survive. It would have detracted from what the previous films had established about their characters, rather than building upon it in some very interesting and more realistic ways. But that's how I would have felt about it.

The final product was definitely the best outcome of all the possibilities. People complain but really, I don't think they give JP 4 enough credit. Okay, the CGI was more obvious in parts but it was seamless over all. And for efsake, does anyone else realize that if Rexy had actually been chasing Claire she would have been dead? I want to do my own video about this but I'm just going to say that Rexy was not chasing Claire, she was following the flare.

Needless to say, Spielberg's three "central ideas" were definitely in the final film. Meanwhile, I fully agree on your final thoughts regarding dinosaurs being weaponised: the message in the series over and over is that Humans cannot control dinosaurs - even Owen's hold on his Raptors was tenuous, as brilliantly shown in the initial paddock scene (that said, it _did_ get a little silly in the climactic battle, where Blue and co. all but call Owen "Papa"). Oh, and 2:40 to 2:53 - mmmmMMMMMM. My Goddess.

I have said it before, if you are going to use a fictional prehistoric animal.... it cant just be another theropod, because whatever behavior this Maulusaurus was supposed to have... could have just been given to an already existing theropod. A fictional dinosaur would have to be something radical, something unprecedented in the fossil record, something that shatters our understanding of life on this world. To justify making something fictional, you have to go to some pretty extreme lengths. I am talking "dragon", or "humanoid dinosaur that is sapient", or "atlantian" or some bullshit like that. and that would probably cause a complete breakdown of the jurassic park franchise, because then the story is no longer about Dinosaurs... its about this ancient lost chapter of Earth's history. Because a creature like that would be way more important.

Monolophosaurus and Spinosaurus is what I think the mix is more of because it explains the red face, the crest and the thicker kind of jaw than a Spino. Plus the Mono is raptor like so the claws and other raptor like features make sense. It also explains the m at the start of the name but there is probably so many other Dinos in the thing but that’s the most prominent for me. The whole idea of the raptors being completely friendly to humans doesn’t settle well with me. It doesn’t make sense as far as how the animals are presented as chaotic-neutral oriented creatures in the movies. It takes away the whole tension and thrill of the series, and makes things predictable. The movie would have been more like what you’d find in the wild imagination of a child, than that of the Jurassic thrill we’ve come to know. I’m glad that Jurassic world turned out the way it is :)

If a raptor is to ever treat a human as something more than just prey that kind of relationship has to be earned. It’s a good way to characterize a badass father figure to that animal as well as flesh out the beast as a deeper character than an un-sympathetic killing machine.

Personally, I could do *without* the whole 'drug lord-slaying circus raptors' angle. MAYBE I'd keep the Malusaurus (but maybe give it a hybrid backstory, as well as the 'Diabolus Rex'-ish design like what you talked about recently, Klayton). I'd maybe change around the theme park layout of Isla Nublar (and some of the kinds of exhibits, rides, and attractions), give the 'Whitney' character Claire's character arc, and I think this "JP4" would've worked. Of course I LOVE the final film we got in 2015, no two ways about it. :)

I need someone to explain my questions. Why did some people hate the idea of a fully functional theme park, humans bonding with regular dinosaurs such as Velociraptors, and hybrid dinosaurs? This really boggled my mind! Were they expecting a repeat of JP3 or the original Jurassic Park instead of anything new? I was 6 when my parents took me to the lost world because I was such a major JP fan already, I spent half the movie covering my eyes but loved it! I rememeber when the VHS came out I had just enough time to rewatch it on a sunday night before bed, but the excitement overwhelmed me and I dozed off and had an amazing nightmare where I was Eddie in his T-rex attack scene lol good times

With Malusaurus in place of Indominus Rex, a fully operational park, and training raptors this plot is pretty basic to the final film. This still overpowers the script with dino-human hybrids from 2001-02. Malusaurus is no exception to could’ve been worse as with all hybrids but it wouldn’t have been so bad like Indominus Rex and Indoraptor weren’t

I am personally really really happy with the final version we got. A fictional ´´real´´ dino makes the movie feel more like a low budget movie or a fanmade one. The hybrid route feels more Jurassic and also makes sense within the movie universe. Jurassic was always about man trying to control nature and the misuse of power, the script mentioned here doesn't connect that well with the main ideas of the series, and thats something even JP3 does well!

I do not know about Jurassic Park 4 as it was never made! But I found the new characters (goodies and baddies) really good, especially some of the personal dynamics. In fact I watched it again a couple of weeks ago and still enjoyed it, not bad going for a fourth instalment of a franchise. Ohh that would have been absolutely perfect for Jurassic world . Bigger and badder dinosaurs. Crichton did mention something about Henry wu creating dinosaurs in the first Jurassic novel . What if the hybrid dinosaurs were actually a close connection to Paul zindels raptor which was happening on the mainland in Utah mountains .
