Ok, I think it's pretty obvious what happened here. For wathever reason the author decided to drastically change the story half-way trough. It is painfully obvious the whole twist of "this is a game" was never the original intention of the author (all the attention brought to the fake Wendy thing only for it to go nowhere and never be brought back in the end is the biggest give away). I don't know what happened or what lead the author to do this (perhaps he felt the story was dragging to much or he just didn't knew were to take it, perhaps he just wanted to end it & be done with it), in any case the last episodes ended up feeling so alienated & chessy when compared to the first ones and there's no real pay off in the end. A real shame, the whole setup & characters were really catching and intriguing, really had me hooked up trough the whole episodes but in the end it became just a huge let down & dissapointment.
@TerrifierTriceratops3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, glad to see the people in the comments share this sentiment. It's rare that a Creepypasta has characters that I actually start to feel an investment towards, so the twist left a bad taste in my mouth just irritates me the more that I think about it.
@BenSS33 жыл бұрын
I admit as well, the ending seemed very forced (especially leaving out the "fake Wendy" part), though I did still thoroughly enjoy it. I think it would've been more fitting if Anders and the protagonist ended up getting the old man who ran the show arrested (or killed, just any way that could've made it more concrete). Still though, great story, all in all.
@Kingdeathtrooper3 жыл бұрын
The fake Wendy subplot is a part of the game that doesn't need to be explored since it becomes irrelevant.

It's practically a direct ripoff of Tales From The Gas Station Bedside Manor in terms of plot elements. Invitation to a creepy place, and then there were none style story, revealed to be all in their heads as they are under the control of something trying to harvest them.

The ending as most seem to agree here felt really uninspired, almost as if the author hit a roadblock. BUT, I have to say, I absolutely loved hearing you narrate this. You are by far my favorite storyteller. The way you convey emotion and suspense in your narrations always has me visualizing the story as it plays out in my head like a film.

@Lord Gray Nah, just reminds me of one of those "It was just a dream... or was it?" cliches (not sure if that's the appropriate word). I think I would have enjoyed it more if the story stuck to the original plotline rather than deviating.
@michaelh96493 жыл бұрын
@Lord Gray There’s no ambiguity there, is there? Is anyone thinking that the ending meant something else? It seemed pretty clear to me that it was still part of the game when MC and Anders came across the dead bodies. Unless old Regis was a speedster or something, he’s not killing all those people alone like that. But as others have been saying, I was liking the story more before the first acting twist.

I've never been so mad at a fake out in a creepy pasta before. I really liked where the author was going in the first half because it felt like a fun, locked room, supernatural mystery; it was like "And Then There Were None" with a vengeful spirit twist. And honestly, I was making theories about the main character's tie into everything. I was thinking that the grandfather's sin was that he did something horror to the main character's family that he didn't even know about and this was his way for atoning for that "sin", and it would all end in the main character having to choose to take all the inheritance for himself or saving the rest of the family after having just been revealed their greatest atrocities.

Spoilers if you haven't finished the video: I really enjoyed hearing you narrate this story, but was disappointed to find out that the whole murder mystery thing was fake. I really wanted to see the whole thing play out even if it was revealed as just an act at the end. And then the whole rescue situation ending up being fake too was just kinda meh. It was written well enough and I don't think it was a bad story, I'm just a bit disappointed that it broke too soon. I would have loved to hear all of the stories behind why everyone was there even if it was just acting. It's kinda like a game you get really into that just suddenly breaks the immersion out of nowhere and just never reaches the same enjoyment as before. Oh well though. I won't absolutely love every story I read/hear. There's something for everyone and I'm sure plenty of people are obsessed with it. I still enjoyed it even if the end was a bit disappointing.

SPOILERS IN THE REVIEW AHEAD!!! Man, normally I'd never comment on a Creepypasta I listen to, in fact I tend to stick to ones that average around 30 minutes as they seem to perfectly fit within my attention span to these types of things, but this one left me really disappointed. Usually with the Creepypastas I've read or listened to, I'll forget about them after just a day or two unless they're really well written and interesting like Borrasca and a few others I've stumbled upon over the years. This was one of those exceptions. I started to take actual, genuine investment into the characters and everything that was happening to them, and the twist that it was all just an act completely ruined any interest I had for the rest of the story. Had the whole element of it being scripted been dropped much earlier into the story, I wouldn't feel so irritated, but instead I was given the time to think about all of the little plot details and what their answers were, only for all of that to be pointless. Maybe I missed details building up to it, but it genuinely felt like the twist wasn't earned at all. Overall the story was an 8/10 in Creepypasta standards until the twist, it really ruined it for me. 3/10 is the best I can give it. Good narration from Mr. CreepyPasta as always, only reason that I stuck through it. Had I been reading the story on my own terms without the narration, I'd had dropped it as soon as the twist happened. Keep up the good work! EDIT: I kinda zoned out in the last bit, but I noticed now that Sam didn't help Greta for literally no reason. Just makes the story worse tbh Edit 2: There was also the fake girl subplot that went nowhere, further adding to the possibility the twist was never planned.

Yeah maybe I’m just oblivious, but I didn’t catch on to any clues that this was fake. I was really interested in how everyone was going to face their punishments/escape. This story really just peeves me off! Not because of horrible and out of place twist but because of how damn good every thing else was. I was so invested in the characters. Why was the mc there? Was is supernatural or was someone pulling the strings? And so on. But to destroy all of that buildt up suspense just to put on that horrible peace of rushed twist to wrap up the ending as quick as possible. What a shame. Honestly.
