I feel like Phantom Menace will always be unique because that was confirmation that SW would continue during a time when we were far less certain that would be the case. For a long time, the only new material was the Bantam book line. My entire life in junior high was reading those novels and playing with SW Micro Machines. Episode I meant that SW was alive.

I enjoy 1. Needs a little bit of a edit.. tightened up etc. But it was a lot of fun, and I saw it 3 times in the theater!

I did. Its easy to take for granted now, but Episode 1 really enhanced the world\galaxy building aspect of Star Wars. Prior to that release, just about every planet we had seen was an outer rim frontier world dominated by a single terrain feature. Obviously, this was based on production limitations circa 1977-83. Phantom gave us cities that still looked alien. There was also a diverse array of costumes\make-up so we could believe that people in this galaxy changed clothes and humans were a much more narrow majority. Most vital, we got our real introduction to the political layers of SW. The galaxy just tripled in scale, becoming truly vast. Its hard to imagine SW being able to continue in a new age of media without that expansion.

I love how the prequels looks like the '1950's and 1960s as far as color, and the ship shapes and styles and stuff. The ships are very much like 50s cars they even have a 50s/60s style burger place. This was on purpose because A New Hope looks like the 70s, dark and sharp edges on square cars of 70s cars and stuff. George is an artist... the prequels are 20 years before... 70s, 50s.. amazing.

Totally. The design work is so strong that it puts the original trilogy in a better story context. Years after the Republic falls, everybody who wants a drop of freedom is trying to survive out on the fringes. George is indeed a brilliant artist, and I love watching the prequels as a metaphor for that kind of shift in civilization. Its the fall of Rome, via the fall of Anakin Skywalker.

That is an interesting comment. I used to listen to all the old Fatman on Batmans (still do) and I've noticed in this new format Kevin actually adds very little in terms of insight or commentary, plenty of dick jokes. He tends to like everything super hero related, regardless of its quality, I wonder if that's because he's back in the world of directing again? The Flash, Supergirl etc..and is reluctant to offend anyone.

I disagree, he brings a fun dynamic to the show with the back and forwards joking and quotes between him and Mark and his sense of humor (even though it's mostly dick jokes). He likes almost everything because he can see past what most people just nitpick and enjoy it for what it is. If he doesn't like something he does talk about it, have you seen him on movie fights talking about the prequels, so funny :') all that being said I've only ever seen Fatman on Batman with Kevin but i couldn't see it any other way
