In the west, we are taught to think of Karma as ''If I do good, good things will happen to me''. I am trying to learn to step away from the two last words. ''If I do good, good things will happen''. Leaving the self-serving part of it behind, I find that the good things I create suffice.

I feel that alot of times people that have lived long enough to be thankful for the bad and good things that have come their way have realized that everything just IS, and everything is perfect all the time regardless of our limited human perception, and that there are great lessons in those perceived “bad” things and times. Just like in my own life, all of the things I’ve been through whether it was bad relationships or trauma or hardships looking back have made me who I am and made me a better partner for my wife and a better father for our unborn son. I’m honestly almost more thankful for the hardships now than any of the past good things 🙏

Speaking of karma, your actions have produced tangible effects in my life and those of many others. For example, I’m now an animal rights activists after you introduced me to veganism 8 years ago. Who knows how many sentient beings you’ve saved by now by creating vegans and reducing the demand of flesh.

@@dwaynewojtysiak2815you seem confused... aside from not understanding how karma works, you aren't taking into account free will. You are referring to free will, which we all have. You are also assuming that the Karma only plays out after the fact. Although there is Karma that will result from said murderers actions it is actually the Karma from past lives that have created his lack of empathy. Unfortunately his lack of empathy was not delt with, out of free will, and he continues to make decisions, out of free will, that negatively affect the collective and/or other souls. This why (pick a polotician) is able to continually take advantage of other souls and reap the rewards in this physical realm.
@CasuallyAuthentic
@CasuallyAuthentic 4 ай бұрын
@@dwaynewojtysiak2815 again, you are basing your ideas off of what you think karma is rather than the definition of those who believe karma. It would probably be best to find a swami or guru to educate you on the subject if you desire to continue arguing the subject.
@CasuallyAuthentic
@CasuallyAuthentic 4 ай бұрын
@@dwaynewojtysiak2815 I will try to put it as simple as possible. Karma does not dictate your path. It only sets standards as to how your path is presented. If you have bad Karma you will have onbstacals to overcome in this life. If you have good karma, you will have easier obstacles. Regardless of obstacles you have free will and you create your reality. All of this only a product of the creator and his path for us. Karma is just one way the creator tests our free will so that we can remember through this experience to come back to him. I encourage you to not gudge and assume out of fear but rather educate yourself about things that are different than your narrow thinking. It is one of the many gifts this planet offers us and why God put is here, among other goals, to learn.
@CasuallyAuthentic
@CasuallyAuthentic 4 ай бұрын
@dwaynewojtysiak2815 and this is where the conversation ends, unfortunately. It is impossible to carry a conversation when assumptions are the bases of your argument. You have to be able to check your ego in order to fully converse in this realm of debate. Besides, you seem more interested in proving a point than actual gnosis. You jumped from karma to astrology with zero segway or connecting the dots. I get it, you want people to know you have an understanding of metaphysics, but without the ability to properly converse about such topics it means nothing, which shows it has little to do with your understanding and everything to do with your ego.

Consciousness is a very big loop stats with spiritual narcissism, I god delusion, Leela maniac, aham brahmasi loop and many more. You may know it very well. Karma is my boyfriend Taylor Swift 😂

Karma; "A reflection of the Perfect Balance of the Universe in each and every unique moment of Existence!" Your life is your Karma, birth to expiration date. "Good" and "bad" Karma is a matter of falling into judgment according to your transitory and personal 'feelings'; you don't have to 'like' the Karma of Here! Now! but it is a feature of Universal Perfection nonetheless. Suffering is the liking and not liking of the inevitable (and/or trying to change any of it)!

Karma is action. Desire is the seed for any karma. Wise man reaches destiny of his will in life knowing the seed while others just keep trying different things in ignorance until they gifted to know. Either you learn in ignorance or contribute to world in your knowing. Karma becomes troublesome only when one done action compulsively. Compulsive actions despite of good intentions doesn't yield positive outcomes. Hinduism is not pacific religion. This is the most empowering spiritual practice letting us know possibilities of being human along with caveats in empowering in ignorance.

Ultimately, Karma is about the energy you put out.. if you are putting out positive energy, it will return, even if not in the same form.. you give a guy 10 dollars for food.. you may receive a raise half a year later.. you may be making an extra 10 grand a year, but you could have saved that man’s life.. it’s hard to pin down how exactly it manifests.. and there is exact karma.. but ultimately we would have to come to understand that this is best for humanity as a collective, it would have to be accepted within the mass mind before it could become a reality.. no amount of brainwashing or manipulation can change that.. perception is reality.. and my opinion is, this is exactly the case.

it depends, if you are giving as a person, there is often a subtle benefit to you : it makes you feel good about who you are, what choices you are making, what kind of effect you are having on others and a lot off mature souls tend to derive their sense of self worth, fullfillment and purpose from that, trying to make a difference and feeling some resentment when change isnt taking place. So there is some inauthenticity in the giving, it isnt natural only from the heart. Thats when you can step back a bit and only give when it feels truely out of love and look at the codependency at its core. Are we fine just being without having an effect or do we need to reiterate our sense of existence and importance constantly by the positive effect we have on others around us

How do you wire in non-doership with Karma and free will like with the lottery example it just happened that way that the one person just played one time and got lucky it just happened to be. It happened to be cause the Universeal I AM chose that not the individual soul. The universe is already all done and created and planed out.

Doership is a byproduct of identification with the body/mind complex. Only when we identify with doership does karma even have a conceptual form according to Advaita.

Karma applies in so many ways. In consciousness, which translates to thoughts, deeds, etc. This can be small scale like moment to moment, days, years, etc. It can be difficult to understand in long terms i.e. when something bad happens to a good person, is this karma, or coincidence, or karma from past lives?

@PersisP

but this isnt congruent with reality bc that would mean everyone suffering severely would be immature and selfish and the ones being rewarded with good things in life that matter would be the loving mature ones and that certainly isnt the case. I think our minds would see this as fair and want to see evil punished and good being rewarded but thats just not true. How many pure souls are suffering mentaly, going thrugh trauma, in abject poverty or feeling extremely lonely. It would also need a God/universe who is in duality and judging us by our deeds and can be cruel and cold in order to force people to change into what he wants them to be and be favoriting people he approves off. Punish and reward is a very immature attitude towards growth and applied by parents who want to cultivate certain conditions bc their love and approval is conditional. Karma is always love, it is that what will set us free and that means it will take whatever form is needed to show us what is hidden and keeping us imprisoned in illusions. So everyone gets excatly the upbringing, relationships and circomstances that will trigger the deepest patterns in us, so we are able to see and be set free. This could mean a shallow person receiving a lot off wealth and fame just for them to realise for themselves it is empty or a mature soul with only subtle patterns left, like wanting to be a good/nice person could be experiencing severe trauma and heartbreak to break them out off the last codependent patterns they have. Its not about being fair, its about effectivity. No one is left behind in misery bc they are bad and souls who are close to surrender arnt left there for a long time by only reaffirming their wrong beliefs by not correcting them and giving them a pleasent life. On the surface this seems unfair but it is compassion itself and we are totally free to chose, we arnt being forced by circomstances, he lets us realise at our own pace and learn some things just dont work. God is a jealous God, as in that in the end we are turning to him and him only (or to our true selves), if you are attached to perceiving yourself a certain way and want to cultivate insincere good behaviour and thoughts, you are not accepted bc he cannot work through a soul that isnt willing to step aside. If he wanted to blast through you in a booming voice with very uncomfterble truths, you would stiffle that energy and close the door bc you are too afraid of that energy and what it would mean about you

Sadhguru says there is no good or bad karma, only karma. Actions have consequences. The idea of 'good karma' to my perception, expresses an individuals preferred outcome. One persons preferred outcome may not be another's. Win/lose scenario's. A farmer doesn't plant crops to feed his ego. More his stomach. Love doesn't fill the stomach.

The west is all about compensation and gaining things. We added this thing to the original concept of karma. Probably influenced by Christianism? , if you do good you will get good things and get to heaven. If you do bad you will go to hell. So you have to act like a good person so you can gain something.
