This adapter doesn't seem to be listed In the Lectron store yet, maybe they're still handling pre-orders before listing it.

I bought a 'Latough' CCS to Tesla adapter for my Model Y for when I drive to the Wichita Mtns. Tested it last weekend at the Francis Energy units at the McDonalds along the turnpike north of Chickasha. Only got 50kw charging speed, but my Tesla battery was at 50%. I am glad I watched your videos of the Francis Energy stations and got the RFID card. It didn't work on the first charger, but worked on the second one.

My friend just bought on March 30-24 a Tesla Dual motor long-range model Y with Ultra Red paint and a two hitch for $38,432.50, and the FSD transferred. Living in Oklahoma, we drove 490 miles to Saint Louis, MO. They had a Cybertruck on display, and I have one or order. If you ever think of coming back to Tesla, the ride and quality of the new 24's are outstanding. That Ultra Red is fantastic! See you at the superchargers someday.

I just bought a '24 Tesla Model Y long range, stealth grey exterior, white interior. I was in and out of the Tesla Store in OKC in under 20 mins.

@mowcowbell Tesla cannot deliver Teslas here in Oklahoma. It has to be delivered or go out of state and pick it up. This was my third and Cybertruck may be next.

@@davidws5439 Actually, they do (if you pick one from their new inventory). Picked mine up on 11th & Broadway (the old Volvo dealership just north of downtown OKC). Had Tennessee paper plate on it, but after paying for the OK tag/title/tax, I have a Oklahoma title on the vehicle. VIN# shows it was made at the Austin plant.

@mowcowbell Very good to know. It was still a fun trip to Saint Louis, MO. But maybe I can pick up my Cybertruck downtown town. You probably know we have a new V3 supercharger, 16 stalls 250 kw and 10 or 12 level two chargers at 36th and Lincoln. More superchargers are to go in downtown by the Sonic drive-in, but nothing is in the ground yet. We need a supercharger around Henrietta Ok in-between okc and Arkansas on I-40 going East! Be safe.

I will watch your old CCS to Tesla adapter videos. Someday, I might get the Rivian R3X which will have a J3400 (NACS) port but I want to be able to charge it at CCS chargers also so I will need that adapter.

🙀 you really shouldn't 😂 yes it will be awesome when cars come with native NACS ports

@@Crazypostman Agreed and for those of us who understand CCS fast chargers, it will be even better because we will have CCS fast chargers and J3400 fast chargers available. I think many Tesla owners are altogether unaware of CCS chargers and just won't or don't use CCS fast charging at all (even despite the CCS to Tesla adapter-of which videos of yours I will now watch). My friend with a model S never uses CCS fast chargers. I DO understand why. LOL.

Don't need a NACS to CCS1 adapter for now. They just opened the 20 stall Supercharger with Magic Dock 3 days before the Easter weekend. When I talked to one of the Tesla tech that was commissioning the site. The v3 dispensers is at end of production as of last year and all permitting and bill of materials that were put in last year will still be the v3 dispensers. The good news is that the v4 dispenser mounting base is the same as the v3, so it can be retrofitted with some additional communications cables pulled through the existing conduit chase. As for 800 volt compatibility is on Tesla time... :-p

My guess is Tesla won't open up Hyundai Access to NACS stations until 800v compatibility... That's probably why Hyundai says q1 2025

They just approved the first round of Oklahoma NEVI chargers today. Love’s will be using Chargepoint units with NACS on one side and CCS1 on the other. Those are some you could try out with this adapter in the (hopefully) near term. I think they will be Chargepoint Express Plus 1000 units which have 375 amp NACS cables. There is a chance they will be 500 amps (the 2000 series) but that’s very wishful thinking considering Chargepoint doesn’t advertise a NACS cable for the 2000 series.

That's great news! I bet this won't happen very quickly though. The nearest loves to me already has a Electrify America so I wonder how that's going to work. Have both or will they replace EA? There is two love convenience stores nearby but they're in town and not on a highway so they wouldn't get NEVI I'm assuming

That adaptor looks longer than the Tesla design. I have the Tesla CCS1 adaptor to Tesla adaptor that has come in handy about 5 times in two years on long trips.

I Don't have the official Tesla built CCS adapter to compare directly but I've handled it a few weeks ago and I prefer the Lectron surprisingly enough. It actually feels more robust and I prefer the latch design. I haven't got to handle the a2z yet

@Crazypostman I would stick with the factory approved adaptors from Tesla or automotive manufacturers, NOT third party due to any kind of warranty cancelation, or if the vehicle or charger catches on fire you would be responsible for all damages.

@@davidws5439 It won't be any problem It's going to be UL certified soon
@davidws54393 ай бұрын
@Crazypostman UL listed is not the issue. UL listed is not a perquisite of being allowed. But, everyone will do what they want until a problem happens or someone gets killed. Tesla should have put a chip so the charger could read the adaptor and not be allowed if the adaptor was not from Tesla or direct from the auto brand that has an agreement with Tesla. Remember, Tesla and its buyers and investors built the supercharger network. I do think we will have plenty of charging stations for everyone. Over 200 dc fast chargers were opened in March 2024.
@Crazypostman3 ай бұрын
@@davidws5439 If they don't get UL approved I would have more reservations. But if they're safety certified and Tesla has a problem with it that's just Tesla just wanting more of the manufacturing profits. Safe is safe.

I don't know if this would ever happen, but I am just wondering if after removing the tesla charger from the adapter, would someone be so distracted as to get back into the car and drive off with the adapter still attached? Do bells and whistles go off telling you something is plugged in? Would the car even move? Yeah, I don't have an EV of any sort. I'm just remembering my one or two times I drove off leaving my gas cap door unhinged as well as driving by someone on the highway and seeing that her actual gas cap was banging on the side of the car. (I was never able to get her attention to let her know before she exited the hiway ). As for buying in November 2023 and receiving it in March 2024, did they charge your credit card right away or when they shipped it?
@Crazypostman3 ай бұрын
Well I know for sure You can't move the car if you're charging but an unpowered adapter left in you might be able to drive off. I know most EVs have a warning on the display if the charge port door is left open. You would look like an idiot driving down the road but you wouldn't lose your adapter if it was possible to drive off because it's locked to the car. I'll go outside and try this later 😂

It’s too bad that the ONE Tesla Supercharger site in the entire western half of Oklahoma, in Weatherford, is just a V2, so this adaptor will not work there. It might work on some of the Superchargers south of you along US 287 in Texas though. There are no Superchargers north of that highway until you get to I-70 up in Kansas. Tesla needs to build a LOT more Supercharger sites in this region of the country, but that means building them on non-Interstates, and with the exception of US 287, they only build Superchargers on Interstates.

They did add a second supercharger location on Lincoln north of the capitol in OKC. It's a v3. They really could use a supercharger location in Lawton, for sure. Another one in Erick would be nice along the I-40 corridor.

@@mowcowbell Oklahoma is still a huge desert for Tesla Superchargers. The only well-served area is Tulsa, with 3 locations. Those locations are just in town, none in the outlying areas at all. There are no Superchargers anywhere in the southeast quarter of Oklahoma, even in the bustling tourist area of Broken Bow, but again, there are no Interstates around Broken Bow. One Supercharger, a V2, in the entire western half of the state including the panhandle is horrible, and there still is not a Supercharger between Oklahoma City and Van Burn, Arkansas, 186 miles, despite Tesla claiming for years to be adding several locations to that route. Then don't get me started about trying to travel north-south anywhere in the middle of the country and looking to use Superchargers. It just cannot be done, with 250-300 miles between the Interstates, those gaps are just too big, but again, Superchargers are only located on Interstates, so there will probably never be any more on US or State highways.
