I’m just happy to see the Trails series getting more recognition. Mixing turned based with real time combat is a pretty cool playstyle and judging by how the unlocalised sequel and the new Kai no Kiseki games look, it will only get better.

Soon to be 13 in japan(this one is 11th). And believe it or not the end of the series is in sight, there will be 2 more story arcs(according to president of Falcom) so at minimum 4 games(but probably more).

They did not ditch. They just mixed/added Ys action fight before turn-based but you press but you can do all the fights full turn-based.

My review: They did an excellent job on introducing new combat system but lost their way on the main selling point of the series - story. 7/10. Daybreak turns out just a first step going downhill, the sequel is barely playable even for 20 years hardcore fans and no surprise Daybreak 3 canceled

@@yon1337 Daybreak 3 is canceled and merged into Kai, the last part of Republic story serves as a chapter of Kai then new beginning for next chapter, Rufus and another character take the lead.That’s how Kai pushes 20% progress to 90% in one title.Also Kai literally means “the boundary between two divisions ”

Falcom is a mid-tier dev house who intentionally makes games under a controlled budget, this is one of the reasons they are so awesome. Who cares if the graphics aren't perfect? The game is great and that's all that should matter. It's great to see a responsible business in this industry that doesn't push for out of control budgets and genuinely cares about their fans.
