I think the funniest thing about Norm is how much he wasn't trolling… Don't Get me wrong, Norm trolled, but what was/is often described as him trolling is him actually expressing himself and his views. Norm could verbally best most people in a room if he turned it on. There is a lot of cope regarding what Norm had to say quite often and without mincing his words, it being him “trolling”. Norm had many very honest and revealing moments to those who watched with open eyes. The man reveled in verbally besting a particular type of person.
@MrNemoYo8 ай бұрын
@@Clj67102 Well put, buddy... Calling him a troll is, IMO, a fine line. He pushed buttons out of his personal views, and IMO, civilised views. That's why I say it's not so easy to class that as trolling? Also his mincing words, I think, were deliberate, mostly. His overstretched gags, for sometimes an obvious punchline, tickled me a lot (and his three favourite hosts (Letterman, Conan and of course, Dennis Miller (who was a joy to watch as he admired). Case and point... "Do you have a dog?"... or "You have $3x with ONE goat". Classic stretches! ✌

Alternate theory: Norm 'double crossed' Anthony. Norm knew Anthony's trashing of the show would be funny and good publicity. Norm also thought that crossing Anthony and not going in on the diss would be funny too (I think it is). Finally, Norm also knew that publicly praising Anthony would actually mean a lot to Anthony.
