I found myself thinking about how the names of the Unique Magics/Signature Spells for 3 out of 4 Heartslabyul members-Cater, Trey, and Deuce-have to do with playing cards/card games/gambling in some way, shape, or form. That, in turn, had me thinking about the only freshman and Heartslabyul member that has yet to have his Unique Magic revealed: Ace. I found myself wondering if Ace’s Unique Magic name could follow a similar pattern to Cater’s, Trey’s, and Deuce’s and be relating to playing cards/card games/gambling. But the question would be what would the name be and what would the Unique Magic be like? Then I remembered Ace’s tendency to lie or deceive others and this video compiling each instance (so far) Ace has done this. (I do agree that seeing it all in one place does put it into perspective just how much he does lie). There was even a comment under this video where someone wondered if lying could have something to do with Ace’s Unique Magic. Seeing that had me considering names in games/gambling that had to do with lying or deceiving others and two came top mind (even though I don’t gamble or play card games, haha): poker face or bluffing. Poker face I considered because it makes it harder for someone to read what you are thinking or feeling and is meant to steer people away from the hand the player is holding. Bluffing I also considered as a possible name for Ace’s Unique Magic (albeit not alone) because it is a poker term that players do to try and mislead other players by betting our raising the bet when holding poor cards. This is all speculative, though! It would be interesting if either term gets used when naming Ace’s Unique Magic whenever it gets revealed! Perhaps his Unique Magic can be some sort of deception spell? ~ ~ ~ I know that this next thing I am about to say is unrelated to Ace and Unique Magic’s, but I have a curious question, if it is alright asking here. I also do not mind if the answers is more speculative in nature. YuuRei, do you know how transformation works for Azul, Jade, and Floyd once they take the potion? It seems like, thanks to Book 3, they can somehow control if whether or not they want to transform when coming into contact with water, since Jade and Floyd freely transformed into their mer forms during Book 3 and Floyd tends to do that as well when swimming for PE. However, for Azul in particular, due to his insecurities, he felt more comfortable staying in his human form at the end of Book 3 despite being in the ocean. I have been left wondering how they are able to control when or if they even want to transform into their mer forms while under effects of the potion? Thank you so much!

Hello hello! Certainly! ^^ Yes yes, the mermaids seem to be capable of controlling when they want to transform, and water is not a requirement! Azul mentions in Book 6 that Floyd will sometimes forget to take his potion and his gills and webbing will appear as he slowly begins to revert, without even realizing it was about it happen! I think you are very right and they are able to control when they revert (as long as they are keeping up with their potion!). We also see Floyd revert from his mer-form to human form during Vargas Camp without any mention of drinking his transformation potion, so maybe as long as they are within the 10-day limit of a potion, they are able to move back and forth between their two forms as often as they wish? ^^ It is an interesting question!! There's a video on the Traitor Ace Theory by princessmacarons and she points out that Ace is uncomfortable with vulnerability and deflects/hides his feelings a lot. Because of that, I think the idea of a poker face unique magic for him works slightly better than the bluffing one (although it's still a very cool idea)! I've been going down the Traitor Ace Theory rabbit hole for about an hour now so your comment was a super interesting read lol

I picture it going down by getting tricked into finding a way for you to easily cross both their world and TWST but ends up releasing something that was supposed to be trapped or locked in for a reason. He definitely isn’t ready for us to go and it breaks my heart😭
