I watch a YT channel called "The Boston Trucker" and this guy's boss has pride in his equipment so his driver's do too.. all top notch stuff that's kept clean and well maintained will attract good operators...
@frankirwin23772 жыл бұрын
Yep I'd cut a plywood door with a decent plexa glass window to keep some of that cold and snow out the cab until a glass door showed up. Then keep the cab heater cranked up.

Blake I still think you can tell a lot by how clean a equipment operator keeps his equipment.

did machinery maintenance for 30 years, your explanation of why is spot on!!!! bottom line driven business don't care. Makes machines unsaleable in some places. A good running machine maintained well makes for a happy more productive operator and a more valuable asset come sales time. Good luck teachin bean counters that, thanks for sharing, remember, "parts do not exist in todays market "

I’ll add my 2 cents on this subject. I have 5 Hispanic farmhands and they are all ridiculously hard on equipment. They are great hardworking, honest men who give me all they have but they really have a knack for abusing equipment. Therefore they only run certain pieces and when purchasing the pieces they run I always go for simple and robust. I’m in a Northern state so cabs with hear are almost essential but we do everything we can to fool proof things where possible.

we had 4 321f loaders, they never fixed the park brake issues from the 321e models, to bad its not a e model, pretty sure we had a plexiglass spare door parts and side window , dont ask why lol , still have few quarts of the special brake fluid they used. they were handy little machines but we went all 621f's and 621g's . have fun with it and look forward to more

You're so right about how the company's view on the value of equipment & the operator issues are anymore. Nice work getting the things fixed up that you could get the parts for on it. Looks like it'll make you a pretty good loader to have on the ranch. Take care.

It's amazing how some do treat an expensive machine and how it can be trashed so quickly... then the next person who owns it has so much crap to fix and deal with if it even makes it that far. I've even seen it at the taxpayer level, as in county workers.

Thanks for your quick reply, yes it does make a difference if I just unlatch the right side window the door latches very easy. I will try adjusting the door handle latch. By any chance do you have any video on how you serviced your break system on your loader?
@GuyinWY11 ай бұрын
If it latches great with the window open, then the cab is just sealed up really well and I don’t know of much that you can do for it. I don’t have a brake video but they’re very easy, albeit expensive. The parking brake and foot brake each have their own caliper on the same rotor where the front driveshaft connects to the front axle. The master cylinder is under the floor and a bit tricky to get to but possible. Caliper was around $850, master cylinder is about $1200. They use a mineral oil brake fluid so don’t add common automotive brake fluid to it.

Multiple operators,one machine. Hard to be conscience when the guy before you left half his lunch all over the floor and the cup holder has more flys stuck in it from spilled pop than a old barn fly strip.

Blake, I have a Case 221F. When I bought it the door had been replaced. I'm am having slam it pretty hard in order to get the door to latch. Do you have any video on the door installation or and advice on I might look for?
@GuyinWY11 ай бұрын
Two possibilities- does having the right side window change how hard you have to close it? Might just be the cab seals are super tight. If it is an issue with the latch itself, you can adjust it by loosening the hinges and adjusting the entire glass as an assembly. It took me a few minutes to get mine right, but it’s not hard. Just watch where it’s lining up. A second person to tighten the hinge bolts is handy, but you can do it alone.
