I really like how the back sits now I think the cars stance is about perfect plus that cam intake and carb swap gave it a bit more power this time around one of the nicest 69 coupes ive seen
@MustangConnection110 жыл бұрын
Thanks Adam, really appreciate the comment! I never thought I would think a 69 coupe would be worth the effort but it's starting to grown on me :)

Sometime it would be neat for you to do a tour and commentary on what your business is all about from top to bottom. It is amazing how much time and effort we would spend to jack the back end up back in the day. Now the thing is to get them down in the weeds. I understand you are going for the stock look.

The Shade Tree Fix-it Man Great suggestion George, I need to do a channel intro video too. It is funny how low is now the thing vs. the hi-jacker look from back in the day.

What did you figure out with accelerator cable bracket? My 69 302 has a Holley like yours but original bracket was missing. Going to put original bracket back on and cable. And advice? Also what fuel pump to carb line you running? A 2v or 4v line? Thanks and great videos.
@MustangConnection15 жыл бұрын
You will need to buy one from National Parts depot, I think they make one when retrofitting a Holley. I cut mine , shaped it and re-welded it to work.
@dougcoleburn15795 жыл бұрын
MustangConnection1 thanks I saw that in catalog NPD and called them - no longer available...ugh I bought a fuel line pump to carb for 302 4 barrel cane no where near fitting. May have to try the 2 barrel one. Thank you

Good luck with it, surprised they don't make them any longer, bummer.

This question may have been answered already, but what did you do to lower the front? I'm building a '69 Conv. which rides way too high on the front. Was originally a base model, but the 6 was swapped for a 302. I installed 1" drop springs and performed the UCA drop to, supposedly get another 1/2" or so. But, it still rides an inch or more too high for my taste. Its highly unlikely that I'll swap out the front suspension for a Mustang II any time soon. What else can I safely do to get another inch or so? Any help would be appreciated!
@MustangConnection19 жыл бұрын
+K Andrews Not sure what springs you are using but the car should have dropped now problem. This car only has lowering springs in front from Laurel Mountain and the rear leafs are mid-eyes that I have since removed and put the stocks back in the rear. Have you driven the car at all?
@kandrews6699 жыл бұрын
+MustangConnection1 I have not driven it, yet. It runs, but isn't exactly drivable since I'm installing new disc brakes all around. I understand there is some settling with time and travel. So, why did you go back to stock leaf springs?

Ride height and ride quality
@kandrews6699 жыл бұрын
+MustangConnection1 It looks great in the video! You wanted it to ride higher? Clearance issues with the tires? How bad was the ride quality? Sorry for the questions. Trying to get the right parts! I've got some mid-eye springs in my shopping cart right now. Not sure if I should buy them or not...

Hey Rich , have you finished the interior? If so how were the window felts that you used especially for the rear qtr windows? I am having a hard time finding anything close to original for a 69 coupe I am working on. The last set I got the rear window felt chrome strip was a inch shorter than the original and the clips were in the wrong place. Car is looking great, glad you got the engine sorted. Was it not possible to get the 4300 carb to work right and that is why you changed? thanks Brooke
@MustangConnection110 жыл бұрын
w957007 The interior is pretty much done, and I was fortunate that the window felts, amazingly were not shot. I just reused the old ones and the new door panels are a nice re pop so that side came with a decent set. NOS are pricey for sure and the repops are what they are. When I rebuilt the motor I added an RV cam to wake it up a touch so the intake and carb just made sense. I plan on bolting the 4300 onto the original manifold and keeping it with the car if and when it's sold.
