@@deeveevideoswhere to begin? lol there’s so many things wrong with just this little clip. But I’ll state the main issue with this view of salvation. If true it would mean that man could in effect become his own savior. That is to say, if someone rejects Christ they can pay (for a time) for their sins in hell and then be restored to right relationship with God. It is effectively another version of “purgatory”. Besides this there is zero support for this view in scripture. Nor was this the “predominant view” of the early church fathers. Furthermore, it supposes that sin against God isn’t exceedingly sinful. It lowers the offense against God that sin brings. God is an eternally great being and thus offense against Him is exceedingly sinful.

@@avid_dreamer_productions I appreciate your thoughtful response. It's clear you're deeply engaged with the scriptures and concerned about preserving the integrity of Christian doctrine. I share your reverence for the authority of the Bible and the importance of understanding its message in its entirety. When I consider the concept of salvation, I'm drawn not only to individual verses like 1 Timothy 4:10, but to the overarching theme of love that permeates the entire Bible, particularly in the New Testament. The message of God's love for humanity, demonstrated through Christ's sacrifice, is central to the Christian faith. It's this love that motivates God's desire for reconciliation with all people. While I acknowledge that salvation through Christ is fundamental to Christian belief, I also see God's love as expansive and inclusive. Throughout the New Testament, we encounter countless examples of Jesus reaching out to those who were marginalized, rejected, or considered unworthy by society. His love transcends boundaries and extends to all, inviting them into relationship with God. In light of this, I interpret passages like 1 Timothy 4:10 as reflections of God's boundless love and grace, which seeks to draw all people to Himself. It's not about diminishing the uniqueness of Christ's role in salvation, but recognizing the breadth and depth of God's love for humanity. Regarding the seriousness of sin, I wholeheartedly agree that sin is exceedingly sinful because it represents a rebellion against the holiness of God. However, I believe that God's love and grace are greater than our sin. While sin has consequences, the message of the New Testament is one of redemption and restoration through Christ. I'm curious to hear more about your perspective on Jesus's coming and what you believe His purpose was. Do you believe in hell or have different views on salvation? Understanding your beliefs better would help enrich our dialogue and perhaps uncover areas of common ground or respectful disagreement. I value your perspective and your commitment to biblical truth. I hope we can continue to explore these important theological questions together, rooted in a spirit of mutual respect and a desire to deepen our understanding of God's love and grace.

@@avid_dreamer_productionsThe idea that a sin against an eternal God is punishable by eternal torment is not scriptural. Do we base punishments on the age of the victim? Are punishments in the Bible set by the ages of the offended parties? Do we set sentences based on how holy the victim was? Should crimes against faithful Christians bring harsher sentences than those against non-believers? Look at the Greek NT text, the original NT. Jesus describes afterlife punishment in Matthew 25:46 as "aionion kolasin", which, as correctly translated, means "age-lasting correction", NOT eternal punishment. People are corrected and then reconciled. This is what most early Christians believed. Those that pushed the concept of eternal torment could not understand Koine Greek, the language of the original NT. Those that understood Greek, believed in universal reconciliation. What does that tell you? Traditional Christianity holds that God and the devils are "competing" for souls. Gods wants all to repent and be saved and the devil wants all souls to rebel against God. It holds further that most people are not saved and as a result of God's judgement, most people will go to hell while a few will get to go to heaven. But does that make sense? Does it make ANY sense AT ALL that the result of God's judgement would equal Satan's goal? Would that not be handing Satan a victory?

@@williamoarlock8634”2,000 years of church history” okay bro, that’s a wild way to approach reality. It may line up with 2,000 years of church history, but it goes against the eternal laws of logic. And not even honest because many have been universalists throughout early church history. And that’s the fallacy of appealing to authority. And those supposed 2,000 years of “Christian” teaching aren’t Christian if they deviate from Christ. Eternal hell is anti-Christ, anti-Logos, and anti-Love. The fact that you aren’t in the fetal position unable to function from your belief in eternal hell makes it evident that you haven’t really sat with the view for very long and felt it.
