yes I agree with you on the fact that The Queen does represent how jealousy can destroy a person but Maleficent is different because she is not a human, she is a fairy, and also she is more powerful. I honestly don't think that Maleficent would have been that evil if she would have been invited to the celebration in the first place, she was just very hurt and angry because they didn't invite her, and her emotions got the best of her.

maleficentdiva Maleficent is the definition of pure evil, and King Stefan was rather bold not inviting her, which backfired.

Maleficent... THE Disney female villain who has class (the other female villains tend to be ugly or funny... Maleficient isn't that). The Queen from Snow White was also impressive... but Maleficient is just awesome ! Like you said... nobody tops her !

Ah :D I'd recommend that one in addition to this special. Its an older special, from 1997. This one is from 2008 I think. They're both good.

Well, the thing that makes me like Maleficient the most is the fact that she is down right evil. Yes, the other villians are evil, but they're only doing bad things because they want to rule something or have power over something. Like Ursula, she wasnts to rule the sea. Scar from the Lion King wants Pride Rock. And even the queen from Snow White wants the be the most beautiful. Maleficient is doing her wicked deeds out of spite.

How many different specials on the making of this have there been? I remember seeing a special where they mention the movie being shot on 70mm film, and Maleficent's cape with its billowy flame-like edges being based on medieval paintings.

This documentary explains a lot about why the film doesn't really work. It's an image-driven picture, characterization was given short-shrift.

Maleficent is fantastic for three reasons: 1. Character design/development. 2. The class she brought to villainism. 3. The fact that she was angry because she wasn't invited, she caused this entire "fairy-story" because she didn't receive in invitation. Fantastically selfish!

Maleficent is badass. She's thee best Villain. notice how most of the best disney villains are female lol. i'd say the evil queen was pretty damn scary what with wanting a huntsman to kill her step daughter and cut out her heart and bring it back just bcuz she was pretty lol but maleficent just has this personality and she knows she rocks. my scale for the top 5 crazy badass female villain are as follows: 1.Maleficent 2.Evil Queen (snow white) 3.Stepmother (cinderella) 4.Ursula 5.Cruella DeVille
