Having female friends who have boyfriends/husbands is exhausting. I don't need your pity, I don't want what you have. I can see all the gaps in your relationship but if I voice them, all hell will break loose.

You know, reading your comment made me think: maybe it’s time we stop looking for people to ‘add’ to us and focus more on how they can help stabilise us or do not take away from us. Otherwise we become products to each other. There’s enough tools to do everything in a self sustaining matter but is that really a way to live? I may be wrong

I disagree men have been conditioned to hate sensitivity because they were told don't cry like a girl. Yes men can express sexuality, anger and intelligent because those emotions were conditioned to be acceptable. What's not acceptable is what is considered "girl" emotions.

While this is true, men do usually have a tendency to make loose connections much easier than women and where we lack is a depth of friendship and that’s our work to do. Having said that, technology plays a part in this for us all (men, women, and other)

It's ridiculous that men and society in general thinks it is our job to look after men's mental health. We do the work and heal after they actively destroy us. How is it our problem to solve?
@fantasticmaan6 ай бұрын
I don’t think all men are out to actively destroy women, neither are we asking for you to look after us. Perhaps this whole lonliness epidemic is just a result of shifting power dynamics and that’s okay. Things may get better in the future and this could be a necessary step but I don’t think it’s in both our best interest to take joy in others pain. It may be a men’s issue now but let’s not act like it’s a not a society issue at large. Only here for reasonable discourse btw no intention to hate or bigot

Human beings need connection. Men and women need each other and need intimate romantic, sexual connection combined with emotional intimacy, when people dont experience that for long periods of time, that has an incredibly detrimental effect on someones mental ans emotional wellbeing, man or woman.

I feel zero empathy for men that complain about the "male loneliness epidemic", but feel some pity for the women who feel like they always need to be in a relationship with a man. Something that I've noticed is that female friends that are in relationships are always lamenting about the men that they're dating being terrible, and yet they'll always justify their relationship when other women point out the flaws of it. It's like they're in denial of the patriarchy and believe that their discontent is normal. It can be hard when the world pushes being in a relationship as the norm, but I'll never feel bad for being single because I see the way men are every day. At this point, I might be on my own, but I'd rather have my own peace than be forced to deal with the men of the present.
@fantasticmaan6 ай бұрын
Couldn’t agree with the first part more. There’s that saying “it’s better the devil you know” and it seems to ring true to that part of the comment. Finding a partner is harder now than ever before so it makes sense why some would absorb a lot of dissatisfaction before learning. The latter half, I’d say being in some kind of loving relationship is the healthy norm to live by it doesn’t necessarily need to be romantic or heterosexual but I hope you’d allow men to feature in it somehow. “The men of present” could entirely be a product of their environment rather than nature and focusing on the way we socialise boys could help which doesn’t usually feature in the discourse. I hope you can see the angle of my comments?

I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem with men feeling lonely primarily boils down to other men and the patriarchy. Men set up standards for themselves that they hold other men too and when they can’t live up to them they suffer. It’s just all to do with the patriarchy.

@prettyhollypolly7553 I dont think that is really true. Women are the selectors, and the burden of performance is way more on men when it comes to male/ female realtions and being attractive and desired by the opposite sex. Men have to be confident, charismatic, high social status, be selected by other members of the opposite sex, having the burden of approaching and risking rejection and facing more rejection when approaching etc is way more of a pre requisite in order for a woman to be attracted to men than men to be attracted to women. Men have to become, women just are. A 19 year old woman who has put no effort into her confidence, status etc can attract an extremely high status and powerful man whos grinded for 10 to 15 years and is in his early to mid 30s to be good enough for the 19 year old woman who can leverage her beauty to get that man and for him to be worthy of her even though she never had to go through that struggle to attract a high level member of the opposite sex and she just happens to be in her attractiveness and beauty prime.

A guy at the gym said this to me like I was supposed to feel sorry for him and I was like 🤷🏽♀️ He was like a several of the men there (over 45yrs) feel lonely and I was like well whose fault is that?!??!? I told him certain men are conditioned to waste half their lifespan hoping from one woman to another and after waiting a *Half A Century* aka 50yrs now all of a sudden you want a younger, beautiful, thriving woman to sit up and look at you be old 🫠 I told him certain men use the women in their community like capital to be traded around for clout, now the women men like him WANT don’t want him back suddenly it’s a problem. Nah…there are plenty of women he and his friends could have those just aren’t the women they want. They want the women like me that have managed to make it past 38yrs with no kids, still look like I could be in my late twenties, educated, with assets. That’s who they want but I don’t want to be bothered with any of them unless they have assets or access to assets and that means 98% are out of the running 🫤
