What a way to keep us on our toes, dropping poor Pershing's 'punishment' into the middle of Din/Grogu/Bo's bonding mission - but having both stories allude to consequences yet to come is great! Elia Kane's expression watching Pershing suffer was pure evil - bravo Katy (and Omid)! Just wish this run time was for each episode! Good job, both!

So we're looking at the beginning of the new order. The large imperial Force at the beginning of the episode. The reappearance of the doctor. Double agents operating inside the new Republic. We're beginning to tie this story to the story of the last three sequels. I believe it is the good doctors work that will lead to the cloning of palpatine.😮

I love Mom Mothma but her decision to de-commission both fleets and eliminate Imperial technology were reasons why The First Order rose so easily. Glad Favreau decided to do this world building now so we will have more depth about the Mando Verse. The Mando Verse has some many unexplored jewels that the sequels never explored. I love how we're seeing the control of cloning taken up by the Empire in TBB and about 25 years later they're tightening that control by eliminating anyone who knows about it, sorry Pershing your services are no longer needed. Another great job of talking about the nuisances of each episode.

Great reactions! I’m always so impressed by the subtle nuances of head movements and body language among the Mandalorians that make you believe you can see the faces of Din, Bo Katan, and the Armorer, even when they’re wearing their helmets. It’s brilliant. Also, Bo was correct, that was way too many Tie Interceptors for an Imperial warlord. So whose ship could they be coming in from? Has Moff Gideon escaped custody and commandeered another Star Destroyer? OR…could this be the first sign of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return? Of course he’ll play a much bigger role in the Ahsoka series, but I’m thinking we just might get a first introduction in Mando S3, even if only a brief or cameo appearance…🙂

The thing I don’t like about this episode is the sheer lack of awareness of the new republic med techs. Why have the possibility of the high setting on the mind flayer if you only use it on the low dose? It’s like we’re just going to do some ECT - oops you got lobotomized. Also what med tech leaves the patient while he is undergoing a mind changing procedure? Let alone with a “former” imperial accomplice? It’s a poorly written plot device imo. I don’t need to be beaten over the head over how incompetent the New Republic is and how easily the First Order took their power back. Everything else was giving me Andor light sort of build up which was exciting especially the background of Pershing, his morality and his integration.

I noticed that too. The tech operator should have a lock on the setting. You wouldn't leave a switch panel open to be manipulated in a nuke missile silo room.

TIE interceptors, and, bombers have no hyperdrives, so, they're must have been a Star Destroyer, or, carrier nearby. I believe Elia Kane is working for whoever those ships belong to. Either the nascent First Order, or, Grand Admiral Thrawn.

I do not believe the other officers sitting at the table when Pershing came up are in on anything. Evidently, the reason that the former Imps are given alphanumeric designations instead of using their names is so they can remain anonymous, even to their fellow former Imps, and no one can be pre-judged based on who they serve, which is harder to find out if you can't look up their name. But Pershing outed her right away as having been under Gideon, and if you notice, the other guys at the table look both shocked and a little repulsed by the knowledge. "Gideon? I didn't know you worked for _him_ " they say. No I think Elia is just THAT good at being a double agent. She's pretending to be the model success story of the program, but she has been lying in wait, waiting for Pershing and the opportunity to take him out. The brilliance of it all is that she did it in such a way that it can look bad for the NR and as if they were the ones who did it. That will allow her to stoke further resentment among the other former Imps. "Doc Pershing only wanted to continue his research in order to help people. You heard his talk, about how he wanted to be able to make things like organ cloning available for everyone. He was doing what he felt would be the best way to truly _help_ this government, and look what they did to him for it." It's brilliant and very very evil. Just what I would expect from Gideon's henchpeople. Everyone seems so convinced Thrawn is behind all this and that he was the one commanding Gideon, but...why? That isn't Thrawn's style at all. He would never allow two of his pilots to be murdered by their own CO and the ship deliberately crashed just to keep insurgents from taking it. That would be a senseless waste of both lives _and_ resources, and that just is not who he is. He isn't the type of guy who says "I'd rather see it destroyed than in rebel hands." He would simply go and defeat them in battle to take it back. If Thrawn really is behind all the ships amassing in the Outer Rim, I think he would be nothing less than thoroughly pissed to find out that Morgan Elsbeth had destroyed the ecology of Corvus and she was torturing citizens, and he would have Gideon's head for wasting the lives of so many ships and troops in his bid to capture Grogu. Hell, he would have had Gideon's head on a plate for destroying Mandalore. The ONLY source of beskar in the galaxy, and rather than lay siege to the planet and take it over completely in order to mine the metal and outfit IMPERIAL TROOPS with it, he slags the place? That is not Thrawn's style, and it never was. Not the Legends version of Thrawn (which, admittedly, is a more ruthless guy and I believe is the one the animated version is based on) and not the new canon version from the novels. The troopers said over the comm that Gideon "just killed a guy for interrupting him" on Nevarro during the season finale, and Elbeth had the entire town cowering in fear. These are NOT the kinds of people Thrawn would take under his command, nor are they kinds of people who would flock to him in the first place. _Ahsoka_ is convinced that Thrawn is Elbeth's "master," but Elsbeth never _confirms_ that; we never see her reply to Ahsoka. (In fact it bugs the hell out of me that there is this gaping HOLE in the story that goes unresolved, despite the fact that isn't the end of the episode). But Thrawn has ALWAYS been of the opinion that fear will not hold the galaxy together, it just drives people underground to nurse their resentment and hatred, stoking the fires of rebellion. Thrawn doesn't believe in the Tarkin doctrine and he never sought to implement it. That is why so many Outer Rim worlds did not put up a big fight (in the Legends novels) whenever his forces showed up, despite the fact he only had 6 ISDs under his command. He set fair terms, and he promised them that loyalty would earn them protection and security, which is all they were looking for. You guys, I don't think Thrawn is the one leading the fanatics. And that is what is left in the Empire after Operation Cinder--fanatics and zealots. I think we are all overlooking the most obvious answer: Snoke. We are 11 or 12 BBY now, which means we're 1/4 to 1/3 of the way to the sequel timeline. Isn't it time to start building out this guy who was supposedly the Big Bad of that era? It took Palpatine 20+ years to become the Emperor we all feared and loathed. If Snoke doesn't get started NOW, then when?

Kane most definitely has that end goal in mind and she’s patient enough and brilliant enough to tell the New Republic folks what they want to hear all the while working her angles. Excellent acting as well. She’s fantastic! 40:42 If you look at the facial expression of the guy who was standing (when Pershing walked over)…when it was revealed that Kane worked for Gideon, that guy was startled and wasn’t altogether happy about having her sitting there. I don’t think those guys are still working for the Empire. 40:59

Well not a "mothership" per say, but TIE Interceptors do not have hyperdrive, only the TIE Defender has that. So yes they either need a ship or planet to come from, since their action can only be in-system.
