Have you ever come across the Famiclone that had Paperboy on it? I saw it once at an indoor market while on vacation years ago, but have never seen it since. Just found it bizarre to have Western games on it for once.

>Western game But...mario and super mario and mario 21 are always on chinglish famiclone consoles..
@StopDropRetro7 жыл бұрын
I haven't! But tell you what, we discovered that THIS plug & play features a Western-only game! The first racing game, #2 on the list, was released as Race America in North America and as Corvette ZR-1 Challenge in Europe. It NEVER released in Japan, which is crazy! I agree it's bizarre and I've never seen it happen on any other Famiclone system I own.

Part 15 of the FCC rules (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_47_CFR_Part_15) governs just about everything sold in the US that can produce or receive electromagnetic/radio waves (to be clear, radio waves ARE electromagnetic waves). Intentional radio waves (such as the 2.4 Ghz frequency waves used in Bluetooth) certainly qualify as such, but so do the unintentional radio waves produced when electricity runs through any sort of conductor. This means that everything with an electrical circuit in it has the potential to produce electromagnetic interference (i.e. radio waves), weak though it may be. Part 15 of the FCC rules basically states that a device sold in the US must not produce radio waves that the operator is not licensed to produce (such as interference on the emergency-services-use-only bands), and it must operate normally when exposed to interference from licensed users of those bands (so it can't burst into flames if a police car equipped with a radio drives by). This can be accomplished by adding shielding (in the form of metal plates/boxes around sensitive or noisy components), adding chokes (those little plastic clip-on "bumps" you sometimes see on cords), or designing the electronics in other certain ways. As I wrote above, this declaration of conformance with the rules applies to anything electronic sold in the US. I remember seeing this label on my original NES as a kid in the late 1980s. Sometimes it's in the manual, sometimes it's on the box. If the device is sold in a retail outlet in the US, that label is probably in, on, or around it somewhere.

Adding to this, it's possible that the controller port is present on another plug&play model from the same manufacturer that happens to use the same shell. This is pretty common in manufacturing, like how TONS of cheapo calculators have fake, non-functioning solar-recharge cells but their higher-cost variants have real ones. It's easier to make one base shell and add additional pieces to block off or cover up missing functions that may be in other models.

I remember I used to have this plug n play back when I was very young. Even though most of the games on here are reskins of official games, I still give them props for at least having a pretty good selection of games. In fact, it was thanks to this plug and play that I found some of my favorite NES games like Gun-Nac, Mighty Final Fight, Wrecking Crew, Ice Hockey, and so on. Also, Inclement Trip is actually Super Spy Hunter, not regular Spy Hunter. And Hot Speed appears to be an original game developed by Nice Code. So, you're right about it being a "Chindie" game ;)

Most products like those have the FCC regs pressed or embossed in the plastic (usually just the FCC code numbers). I'm sure the sticker is an afterthought. All electronic devices sold in the U.S. have to comply with those FCC regulations. Basically, nothing you sell can jam another device and all devices you sell have to be susceptible to jamming lol.
