This is like 10 revolutionary tech products in one kickstarter. Just ONE of these would require millions in funding, and teams of hundreds working for decades. Not that the ideas don't work in theory by themselves; predictive computing, augmented reality, programming languages that don't use code, advanced VR headsets, efficient generators, climate change research, a programmer community, etc. But sheesh! Pick one, then dial down the scope and pseudoscience by about 100. Here's what we'd get if they got funded: about 10 years of missed milestones, and clones of Microsoft Clippy, the Logo programming language, Google Cardboard, and a cheap Android phone with an adjustable 90-degree flap.

@StopDropRetro2 жыл бұрын
Times have changed. Debit cards are more common and accepted but I distinctly remember a time when you didn't want your date to catch you "using a debit card" to pay because that would make them question your finances. In the past there was a stigma attached to it. Whereas with a credit card the implication is that you're much more financially stable. So it's basically a joke about someone pretending to be a high roller but their lack of a credit card shows they're bullshitting us.

Pausing at 10:00 for a personal clarification, perpetual motion machines ARE possible, if you use the right design and minimize friction as much as possible. HOWEVER, Perpetual motion machines can, at best, only power themselves. And even then, friction can only get so low. Minimize bearing friction, you get air friction. Minimize air friction by making a less turbulent shape, you last a little longer, but unless you have an infinitely smooth and well-polished exterior, it will still have a little. Put it into a vacuum chamber, it minimizes the possibility of air friction, and it will last a lot longer, but bearing friction is still at play, and at that point you're indirectly using external energy to keep it going, via air pump. It's impossible to make it magically 120% self-sufficient when it's nearly impossible to even get 100% out of it even in a vacuum. I'm all for a machine that can generate more energy than it needs to keep running. But that infinite energy machine isn't among perpetual machines. It's also not among magnetically induced regenerative machines. It's not among solar panels; those just convert energy, not make it out of nothing; not to mention people are trying to come up with weird Indiegogo campaigns trying to "innovate" on that as well. The idea of creating infinite energy is awesome, but we have to look at everything with a grain of salt. And with all of the modern shill Indiegogo scientists, people have to be more wary than ever before, and that fact disgusts me.

While it's true he did say that, Josephson also helped expose Uri Gellar by subjecting him to actual scientific testing. Brian Josephson's big idea is that because all science is based on the idea of things happening again and again - Science is based on repetition and consistency, and getting the same results again and again - Josephson claims that this is a flawed idea, because he thinks under the right circumstances things could only happen once.

Great video congrats on being my only subscription with notifications on. So you are 90% correct with the light field detail, not that it matters much since this is an awful campaign. Light field tech is a big deal for augmented reality applications. Instead of Ray tracing where a computer generates an image to mimic the direction light bounces off an object, light field sensors detect how light bounces off an object. Typically it's paired with a transparent screen in some goggles so it can virtualize objects in a scene super accurately. These people are trying to get in on Magic Leap's game (a legitimate company).

@@StopDropRetro whoa thanks for responding so quick! So this stuff is a bit out of my field of expertise, but the Magic Leap uses the Nvidia TX2 processor. The real secret sauce is their light-field tech that puts them ahead of the Microsoft hololens. Looks like I was wrong about that in my original comment. The light-field simulates light directionally, like light bouncing off a table into your eyeballs. All this stuff is real big ticket tech that requires billions in investment and most of it won't see a consumer application for years from what I can gather
