That was fabulous, Jake! What a coup to get together with the the heart of Many Saints. I'm from Jersey, I "tawk" like it, and I still cannot think of James Gandolfini without crying. I went to bed dreaming about it on opening night. I was thrilled to see locales in Jersey I know so well. You were a gushing fan and it really showed. Great questions. It's hard to impress David Chase lol! Bravo.

It's really good and if you're a fan of Sopranos then you'll like the film. There's a lot of fan service in the film, sometimes to the point of being cheesy, but the film was a mixture of serious and humour and so it's true to that. Just don't go into it thinking it will be a story about Tony

The movie is nowhere near being on the same level of the show. I hope that Michael moves on from this and gets to be his own person and actor instead of James Gandolfini’s son.

My favorite part of this interview is seeing Chase genuinely intrigued & smiling (doesn’t happen often) when Michael talks about his dad. Almost like Chase was/is so intrigued by James/Tony & wants to know EVERYTHING about him. Chase 100% respects & is grateful for the Gandolfini’s ‼️
@Ofinfinitejest3 жыл бұрын
Portraying the sociopathic aspects of Tony really troubled James Gandolfini. You can see this and learn about it in various interviews. I think living that role for years took an emotional toll on him. It makes perfect sense, and is a tribute to how great a father he was that he did not show that to his son in any way.

I had two alternate endings for the Sopranos…. 1. Tony and Carmella are old and he is sitting by her hospital bedside and her is telling her the truth….His Confessional so to speak… as to all of the things that he has done throughout the years both personally and in “business”…..hence this has all been Tony really telling this all to Carmella….This is the last story as now Carmella passes away and a Nurse comes in as it fades out slowly… 2. You hear the alarm sound and the Loud bang of the prison doors closing The guard screams Lights out as Tony wakes up from his dream… He has been in prison for a decade and Tony has been dreaming of his entire life and every path that he chose..
