You have good points. Yet, Orthodox Jews have the same background. It is due to either strong belief in the studied texts or blind following of their teachers. In addition, there could be a fear of leaving the tribe and family and not seeing any alternatives. I recommend watching the Turkish production on Netflix called Younis Emre. It shows very well the struggles of a young judge, trained in the classical madrasa who finds himself following an illterate sufi shaykh and actually becoming a follower (dervish) for a while. The similarities with Egypt and Pakistan show the futility of assuming one has spiritual certainty from simply studying texts, regardless how rigorous. The ability to know truth and act upon it is a gift from Allah to very few.

Analysis was spot on One question is, how should students of knowledge be around women? Because its everywhere; uni, work, even family gatherings. I mean, it sounds silly, but society expects scholars to behave in a certain way around the opposite gender. Would love it if you have any advice on this in another video.

Read into the life of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the best explanation of why they rejected your ideas. He meant well, but in the end, caused more harm to Islam.
