Dude can strip and paint a case and run custom watercooling lines like a BEAST, but can't even spread thermal paste right.

harvard james I do the dot method and just use the heatsink to spread the rice sized thermal paste. Gamers Nexus tested different methods and even they came up with the same conclusion as you due to the difference of only plus or minus .1 degrees Celsius

@@hjjr-se5jv it's dependent on the CPU die. I always use the pea-dot method where you put a glob and let the heatsink spread it itself, the reason being that thermal paste should NOT be a layer between the CPU die and the heatsink, it's supposed to fill the micron-sized gaps and imperfections in the heatsink and die and allow the heatsink to contact the die better. The fact that he just spread the paste like frosting on a cake (you can legitimately see where there's a big ripple on his spread) made me cringe. HONESTLY though, it's not the biggest deal. He's maybe sacrificing 2 or 3 degrees C with a frothy layer of paste. Sometimes less is more!

@@hjjr-se5jv Also at 2:49 you can see where he gets liquid metal off the CPU die and onto the silicone itself, which also made me cringe. I didn't say anything because personally I've never de-lidded a CPU but I've done my research and metal is, ya know, conductive, so usually you want to keep that shit off of everything except the die lol. These little quips aside it's still an amazing case mod and an amazing build. Not trying to come off as a cynical ass here lol. Just makes me cringe when I see these KZbinrs with thousands of subscribers building custom PC's worth thousands of dollars and they make elementary PC building mistakes.

Did the gpu outlet directly go to the pump I can't figure In this maze

pump to 120mm res, to the cpu, which he has the setup backwards( he has the inlet going into the out and the outlet going out the inlet) which from the cpu goes to the 240mm rad and then into the GPU inlet and out the gpu outlet back into the res. Then repeats.

Gorgeous build. But.. only 8700k and 1080ti? We can go much higher in profomance before one needs to add custom cooling loops, in my opinion. Proformance over even cooler temps and ascetics.

XpodX you don’t need the best for water cooling lmao. My personal pc is water cooled but i have 2 980 Ti’s and an 9900k The strength of the parts don’t determine if you choose water cooling or not 😂

Great build but one suggestion. This is more of the case design fault than yours though. You should not cover the power supply intake with radiator because you will introduce additional heat to your power supply. This will cause PS fan to overwork = produce noise/wear fan/efficiency drop. Your other build with 360mm rad was limited to one option but with 240+120mm you could've done GPU>rear 120mm rad>right justified 240mm rad>CPU in that order to dissipate heat away from components. To even out the look add a fan over the PS and, not sure if this is even possible but since the shroud has large holes perhaps put 240mm rad behind the shroud and put the fan on top of shroud? I really like the look of this case but that side mounted PS shroud limits cooling options and in any configuration you will direct hot air to PS because it's the only component with negative air flow in a tunnel. Moving the heat away from that shroud as much as possible should yield greater cooling result I think.

dont forget to put lm on the underside of the ihs as lm can absorb in to little "micro pores", which will be accelerated due to thermal expansion once the cpu is under load. also you couldve put lm between the heatsink and the ihs as well.
