SIMPLYPOD SUGGESTION: As a cat mom myself, I would love a part two of the SimplyCatLogical pod. Interesting/funny/scary cat stories, things you've adapted or "cat proofed" in your house, greatest hits of your useful/helpful cat products, etc. The first CatPod gave more of the "who they were" vibe, so part two could be more of a "where are they now" type of vibe lol. Okay, so I'm only four minutes in BUT my bigger issue is honestly with the attention paid to the super "big" KZbinrs as the face of KZbin. Because to me, they're not what KZbin is at all. The thing is these super ''big'' youtubers will give them their money. The New York Times will never write about a small youtuber with 40k subs who does only nice things, this will do absolutely nothing for the newspaper ( bc no one will read it bc no one cares/if you still didn't get it ), they need money and will get their money when they write about the biggest on the platform. it’s just horrible that james charles was able to, time after time, “erase” the things he had done without any repercussions. he’s somehow a very rare case, doing almost everything bad that an influencer can and had possibly done, while still maintaining such a large platform. another example of this can be seen in shane dawson. it’s kind of good now that most people, besides their devoted audiences, are able to recognize this bad behavior and disassociate from the creators

I loved this Podcast. I’m a freelance writer and worked as a reporter for a few years. I’ve definitely seen both sides of how these stories are created. So I appreciate the benefit of the doubt. MOST reporters really care about telling the truth. Unfortunately some of the clickbait sites and gossip rags make it way harder for people to separate legitimate media reporting and trash. (Not that I have an opinion on those types of sites… lol)
@Stettafire
@Stettafire 2 жыл бұрын
Nothing but respect for real journalism, I think we can agree that gossip rags ain't it. I remember when I was young, I was shopping with my sister and she bought one of those tabloids and the front page article was "Britney Shears" from the Daily News. Even though I was a teen, even I could see how it was utterly vile. Me and other people (not my sister) too got sick of celebrity coverage, so the lot of us barely touched newspapers until much later. Honestly, those kinds of things discredit your entire profession.

Agree totally. I saw a video once where a guy said "I'm not really into her music" and the comments was full of swifties sending him death threats and calling him sexist. I think you can like what you like, but "white knighting" (am I the only person who calls it that anymore?) is super toxic. I'm glad you're mature then the rest of your fanbase

@@Stettafire Totally agree! I can appreciate her talent and hardships in her industry but I’m just not a fan of her, I feel like fans can get too absorbed into a deeper meaning on why you may not be a fan of their idols work, and it can simply be just taste. I think people who defend their idol blindly is because they see themselves in them, so it’s almost like an insult to themselves.
@line8857

@@Stettafire yeah like I get trying to defend what and who you love but people take it too far. Obviously I see a lot of hate thrown at Taylor on twitter all the time but acting on it and starting useless fights is such a waste of time and really just paints a bad picture of the fanbase as well. Like the Swiftie fanbase is known for being very toxic and over all mean which is insane when you think about the person people swear to love. It's Taylor Swift, the last thing she wants is for people to get hurt and for her fanbase to attack people. And people seem to think that she can't make mistakes and that she is perfect. With that being said I personally believe that even though it isn't her responsibility nor her fault that the fans are acting this way she could say something about it. She doesn't have to but it might help directing her fanbase towards a more positive and kind attitide. And let's not even talk about how fans are attacking eachother in this fandom?

To the point they’re making about “they’re young and they don’t know how to manage people” that’s the kind of thing I wished I’d learned in High School (along with taxes and how to buy a house/ car and stuff like that). Also overworking and underpaying was something I experienced a lot when I worked for a symphony presenter organization. I was making $15/hour with a bachelors degree, doing all the marketing, all the box office, all the reception and office management. I worked 50-60 hours a week and my director wouldn’t let me use PTO almost ever. I went in sick to that job more times than I care to admit. Any time an employer can prey on employees passion for a subject, in my experience they will. IMO, that’s more of a symptom of American capitalism than age or inexperience. In every job I’ve had there has been a feeling of disregard for employee well-being.

He misrepresented the guidelines as well, saying he followed guidelines for water activities (meaning swimming) that allowed no masks. D'Angelo Wallace's Influencer-19 video has a good summary. Hope that helps :)

And I’m sure if anyone were hired to the Simply team they would have an amazing time. 💖

I had been a nurse all of 6 months before my manager wanted to train me as charge nurse. I knew enough then at 22 that I was not ready for that responsibility. There's a reason the most junior person in the workplace should not move up too quickly, no matter how talented and intelligent they are. Your emotional intelligence does not always catch up with your smarts. There's more to being a leader than being the best.
