I have a crazy recommendation/idea for you idk if you watched Gravity Falls growing up but it is an AMAZING show and I would love to see you do similar videos to Steven Universe if you have. Literally feel the exact opposite and am saddened to see so many people disagree. 2005-2009 was Sonic at his most focused and his absolute best, with fire idea after fire idea. What you call a midlife crisis I call a burst of confidence. What so many call the Dark Age is quite frankly the crowning jewel of Sonic the Hedgehog.

everything after heroes was shamelessly taking things from other games shadow was a copy of jak 2, the story of 06 was heavily inspired by jrpg's and the werehog was a god of war clone, it was as if sonic team didn't believe a normal sonic game could work anymore, so they just copied what was popular at the time, the teams working on the hand held and wii games we're trying their best though.

People actually look back on Black Knight quite fondly too now, much like Unleashed. Especially when it comes to the story and setting/aesthetics. Often considered the last time Sonic was cool before he became a total joke in the 2010s.

Sonic Colors and Generations were some kind of bridge beetween the dark abyss that was the late 2000s and 2010s games As simple as they are, they were like a "bridge" (well recieved games) that was in beetween 2 eras of bad recieved games (Late 2000s with 06, Secret Rings, Unleashed, Black Knight, etc. And 2010s with Lost World, Boom Rise of Lyric, Forces, etc.) Acting as some kind of checkpoint beetween 2 quite well recieved eras, the early 2000s, with SA1, SA2 and Heroes and the 2020s with Frontiers and Shadow Generations

The only reason Sonic and Chip find out about Gaia temples and how to restore the Emeralds is because Tails directed them to Professor Pickle who had studied about the Gaia manifests. Sonic and Chip are able to travel around the globe due to Tails flying them around in the Tornado. Tails is literally essential.

The fandubs were actually my first introduction to the Sonic games and I wouldn’t be so deep in this franchise without them. I don’t hate Sonic ‘06 nor do I want to boil it down to just what came out of KZbin. It was just meant to be a little throwaway joke that clearly didn’t come out the way I meant it to. I agree with you too about feeling frustrated when people say the fandubs are better than the actual games. It’s comparing apples to oranges in terms of experience and it devalues the original games with the writing, programming, and animation that went into them. Sorry that I ruffled your feathers a bit, that wasn’t my intention

Unleashed was great, but the werehog stages were just too damn long and it felt a little too hard for casual players. Werehog combos and gameplay were better than what crash and spyro was doing at the time with their own hack n slash gameplays, it had a big variety of combos and a decent levelling up system.

New fan, joined in 2021 and am an adult. Same thing with all 3 of my closest friends but for 2023. We all love these games, they are fire. Same with every new fan I've met online or when I attended the London Sonic Symphony, they all love ShtH, 06, Unleashed, all of em. There is no nostalgia factor here, they're literally just misinterpreted and misjudged. If anything it's the exact opposite of nostalgia, a lot of old fans are just stubborn and spiteful towards them.

Played every single Sonic game ever. EVERY one, educational, arcade, mobile, web games, mainline and console spin-offs, different ports of games, games considered borderline lost media probably only 11 people have heard of, I've played it all. And I haven't just played it all, I've read it all. News of the World, Archie, Fleetway, IDW, Story Comic, Shogakukan, CoroCoro, Sonic Channel, guides, manuals, cookbooks, ALL of them. And you guessed, watched it all, shows, films, short films, web shows, licensed partnerships. ALL. OF. IT. If Walter White is the danger I AM the hedgehog. My understanding of Sonic is greater than you for some reason assumed so baselessly. I don't think about what's best, I KNOW what's best. Your approach here proved what I was saying about older fans too.

@@KOTSOSMC2002 Dont care if you played Sonic and the Black Knight or whatever because that game is no where near as important to the franchise as the classic games are. To understand what a good Sonic game is, youd have to understand the classics because theyre the very foundation of the franchise. The biggest reason why Sonic has become a joke is because the devs REFUSE to understand the classics and instead prefer to experiment with nonsense so they can reinvent the franchise.
