as far as i managed to see, it's only people uploading fake ai music through digital discographies into popular youtube-generated music topics. they purpsoly choose youtube topics because they are easier to get through than other platforms (like spotify) and once their "music" is uploaded it obviously gets the attention of the fans, and due to the constant people listening to it, the people which made said fake music get some earnings, though i wouldn't know if they actually get any money or just a small income before the song gets taken down. but this is just speculation, i did less than 14 minutes of research so there's surely a lot i didn't cover/research because it's a really deep rabbit-hole that i don't wanna get into gn lads
