I can't blame them for think their lives were in danger. They father tell them he will kill them if they told anyone. I seem to recall Lyle wanted to tell but Jose threat them. Some people would said its a empty threat but when its said every time it would convince you that your life is in danger. And then Kitty would just turn a blind eye to this and said 'they father knows what best for them'. Those few word make me want to scream and tear my hair out every time.

Well, exactly. The jury who judged him werent allowed to hear this. This was the first trial , which resulted in a hung jury. The judge then decided the abuse (ie the motive) wasnt relevant to the case and was only makinq it difficult to get a jury to agree on a conviction.

This proves it's self defence. Them saying they feared for their lives. Imagined being drilled like this as child. They confronted their father and he definitely most definitely threatened them. How could they not believe he'd do it, especially after all this. The fact that they even felt guilty for muddring them. I challenge anyone to watch these tapes and not say the father and mother deserved it. U can not make thi stuff up. The fact that several family members corroborated it Jesus. The judge who limited the SA evidence that could be shown in the second trial title should be receinded. Whoever they are permanently ultered their lives. Life sentence without porole insane.

After the hung jury the first time it went to trial, the judge decided the abuse wasnt relevant to the case and didnt allow any of the abuse evidence to be heard or seen in the retrial.

If this is true, i dont know since i wasnt there, its very possible that it is, what a very sick individual his father jose mendandaz was. And has got away with it. Something not right about a young boy , teenager, getting sexually violated in his own home where u should be safe. Then both of them killed him. It was waiting to happen. It gives me such a heavy heart hearing the torture. How anyone can say these accounts aren’t made up, I will never understand. I can imagine after many years, of physical, sexual and emotional abuse including threats of death from your own father, that conditioning like that would start to eat away at you and cause the need and desperation to make it all stop. Especially when you know your brother is getting the same treatment. You would feel a need to protect your brother also. The mind would very likely eventually justify elimination of the cause of the pain and torment. 😢
