He must feel great, so many GMs and specialists were absolutely destroying him in the last match against Carlsen, some people even predict he would only decline after that performance, but now he comes back and makes a historical unbeaten performance. I was rooting for Ding but I’m happy for Ian.

Caruana blabbered so much in commentary in 2021 that nepo didn't do this or that move as if he's any better.. now see who actually qualified and who's in 5th place. Karma repaid his audacity kindly.

Ian got criticism in the WC match due to him collapsing last 2 games and appearing to give up and not wanting to continue. Lots of GMs thougt that. I'm glad for Ian, most do not fight back after a very public collapse, he has proved to himself and thar is all that matters.

I think it's crazy to say ''Alireza was a massive dissapointment'' while he's still 19 years old. Give the guy a break. He managed to get at the highest level in such a short notice. There is no shame of playing a bad tournament while you're at that age. People are too much living up to the hype and can't seem to understand that the field Alireza has been playing in is super strong. Players like Ding, Radjabov, Caruana, and Nepo are very familiar playing the Candidates, Hikaru knows how to play at the very highest level as well, and Rapport and Duda are equally as talented as Alireza. But people are just blindly staring at Alireza's rating and drooling over the words of Magnus (''I won't play in the worldchampionship if Alireza isn't the challenger'').

Since Magnus said that he maybe doesnt want to play another WCC after the match against Nepo, i honestly think that Nepo is gonna play Hikaru or Ding, and in further future i think that Magnus is gonna get at least close to 2900 demolishing the next candidates

It's quite possible that money was the issue. Now it's 2.5 times more, 5mln€

@@timsonins i don't think so, magnus has more than enough. And the topic of the WCC being actually not that rewarding and drawish is nothing new, that is the biggest concern about it.

Magnus will play the match. He made that statement to create intrigue in media for the tournament and also bluffed to get more money from FIDE. Chess players have no problem with draws, they are part of the game.
