So true and when cats get nervous or in an unfamiliar environment they will stress shed. Which is the worst. I have thoroughly groomed my cat before the vet just to have them throw hair and look like I have never brushed them ever... My vet is understanding and knows cats do this. This kitty seemed pretty calm for all his lil old man grumbling. Too cute.💙🐈🐈‍⬛

something that I think should be said about Bengals is if anyone is interested in getting one, only adopt one if you are prepared to have a cat who needs a LOT of physical activity. lots of playtime that involves running around, taking them on walks or hikes (harnessed of course). they are a very active breed and need the stimulation.

I remember him. He is gorgeous. I had a black and white tabby cat who loved the water. He would walk around the rim of the tub while I was bathing my children. He would go after their toys and if he fell in, he didn't care. He sometimes jumped in with them if they were playing with a toy he particularly liked. What a treat to see such a beautiful animal. Our oldest bengal boy (a retired breeder that we adopted at 3yrs old) looked a lot like Zeus. He was also a growly boy, but never made an aggressive move towards anyone. He was easily appeased with head bumps and belly rubs. We lost our big boy to cancer earlier this year at age 13 and miss him terribly. Hearing Zeus and his faux-threatening growls made me smile. ❤

It makes sense that good breeders will aim to produce kitties who are tolerant and even-tempered, as well as looking stunning. We've always adopted, and our cats became well-adjusted, but we've recently brought home a Maine Coon kitten from a reputable breeder and she has been bomb proof (and beautiful and mischievous) from the get-go. Zeus' grumbling and grunting is something I had with one of my previous cats. He'd do that when he wasn't happy with the situation, including the dramatic wheezing like he's having problems breathing. He didn't, he was just being a drama queen, and as soon as he was free to roam again he'd be back to breathing as normal..

My cats on a raw fed diet too. He has so much less dander, no allergies anymore, I’m not allergic to him, and he sheds less!! Also has such moisturized skin and MUCH smaller/less smelly poops I am a huge advocate for feeding animals their ancestral diet.

@@LeeJillian I say to start slow. Start with just prepping one meal a week to get a feel for it and let your cats test it out. You may have to mix food that's familiar to them in initially or sprinkle it on top. Cats can be finnicky eaters, after all. You may also need to start with cooked as part of the transition period. It takes time, so take it slow and get a feel for it. Find what is manageable for you. If you eat meat yourself, it can help to plan cat meals alongside your own to streamline prep work and fridge space. Pet food deliveries can get expensive fast, but they can certainly help when you're first starting out to get a feel for nutrition and cat meal planning. Do your research and work at a pace that's best for both you and your cats. Best of luck!

I started my 3 cats on mouse model raw from the day I adopted each of them 3 years ago. They have beautiful, soft, lacquer shine coats, excellent muscle tone, unstinky poops, and less shedding. They love it and gobble it up. It's so economical, but a bit of an effort that is well worth it.

@@LeeJillian Consult your friendly neighborhood veterinarian and then find a raw food company trusted by both yourself and said friendly neighborhood veterinarian for starters. Over time as you learn more you can gradually transition into making their meals yourself if you want to, but be VERY careful. As someone who has written academic papers on this and works in veterinary medicine, I would say I would not trust 90% of owners to do a raw meat diet, *especially* with cats. Even I wouldn't home-make a raw diet for my cat because I simply don't have the time, and I do this for a living! It takes a *lot* of in-depth research to do it properly and getting it wrong (like not including enough taurine) will have deadly consequences.

I give my cat raw meat scraps when I'm cooking. She gobbles it up. But when I first got her (she was 15 yo) she refused the raw meat. Now that she likes it I save her a couple of meals worth of raw meat a couple of times a week.

Zeus is stunning. I live in New Zealand and breed Bengals. I know a lot of breeders in North America. Would love to know who bred him. You did a wonderful job of grooming him. I find a Zoom Groom the best for Bengal coats. Having a Bengal is like having a permanent puppy. They will walk on a harness, fetch and play in water very happily ... so much so that two of my kittens flooded my house recently ... ohhh nooo! Yes, the learnt how to turn the tap on, and also knocked the plug into the bathroom sink while they were playing. Hope to see Zeus again!

This title had me in stitches….I’ve just been watching a bunch of videos of my favourite team of guys running into colonies of seals and capturing them in nets to help remove entanglements-mostly fishing lines but also hooks, plastic bags, even a bikini bottom etc-that would otherwise kill them. They’re called Ocean Conservation Namibia in case anyone is interested. It’s rather addictive once you start. Luckily I got a notification that Girl With The Dogs 2 had a new video that pulled me out of my rabbit or I guess seal hole. He is such a gorgeous boy and does make sounds rather reminiscent of those made by the seal pups 😂. That coat….

@@catherinewhite8819 Oh cool! I spent 2 hours last night watching their videos on TV (streaming on YT on Apple TV) with my 93 year old Dad who is living with us. I watch Girl with The Dog with him all the time and he loves her. He has early dementia but loves animals…that’s where I get my love for all things quadruped 😆 Their videos are immersive, quick moving with POV perspective…and Antoine is French like us and once in a while when flustered reverts to speaking French to the pups. And we both love hearing his French accent. I am the same…I switch to French with babies, animals…or if I’m counting! The great thing with his memory issues is I can replay his favourite Girl With The Dog Videos…mostly the Furnados or the really spunky mad dogs…and he doesn’t remember them if they were a while ago. He has always had a great sense of humour and loves hers. So we will sit while eating dinner and have a family binge watching marathon! My husband loves her but usually starts scrolling through his iPad after an hour…not a die hard like us 😂

The cuteness is off the charts. I can't even. Help. I can't deal. So, so adorable! Poor, peeved little big kitty. Yes, Zeus may be the most beautiful Bengal ever, but that face, and those paws! That is pure cuteness in the extreme. Maxwell is likewise absurdly cute.

Zeus is gorgeous and funny!!! I love how he moves as one whole unit, when you have to get to the other side 😂😂😂😂😂. He did all that growling and not a claw came out or hair stood up…such a good boy!!!

Zues has beautiful markings on his coat. He doesn't like the grooming though a little growling doesn't hurt, it will be the teeth and the claws that do that. Thank you for sharing your work.

What a (beautiful) grumbly grumpus! Bengals are SO striking and impossible not to immediately fall in love with! 😻 All of that grumbling and growling reminded me of my neighbour’s Abyssinian (Miso), who I’ve fed a couple of times when she’s been away. I’d met him before and he was fine with me, but the second time we met I was hanging out in the corridor, sitting down outside my open door with my own cats (they’d been patrolling up and down, killing bugs, exploring doorways, etc!), and Miso’s mum thought it would be fun for the cat-neighbours to meet each other (she said he’s very social and eager to see what’s going on and make new friends!). Unfortunately Miso was SO eager to make new friends that he basically invited himself in to my flat as soon as he reached the doorway before I could react, and my cats were NOT OK WITH THE INVASION! They panicked, and in all the confusion one of my cats turned and hissed at my other cat while they were making their escape back into the flat, while Miso’s mum scooped him up and took him home as well. My cats were fine and acting perfectly normally a couple of minutes later, but when I ended up feeding Miso for a weekend when his mum had to go out of town urgently, turns out he absolutely had *not* forgotten the experience, and was holding a sizeable grudge 😂 As soon as I opened the door he burst out all guns blazing, and worked his way through a very full repertoire of angry-noises the whole time I was there! Seriously, the lil dude sounded like a siren/burglar alarm some of the time - mowWOWowWOWowWOW! I think it took 3 or 4 visits for meals before he relented on his mission of vocal hatred… each additional time I tried to make sure I’d removed every possible smell of my own cats, as best I could, and came armed with a pocket full of treats to appease the angry beast! There were some confusing times on the 2nd or 3rd visit, where he was alternately letting me pet him and purring, then going straight back to hissing and growling when he remembered who I was and that he hated me 😂

Such a good boy! My boys, regular mutt dsh and osh, haven't been professionally groomed, but the vet always tells me how well they behave in the back. If you turn away they may try to slink away, but my oldest even put up with being put on the foam supports for x-rays without sedation. Zeus looks like a very loved and well socialized boy. He voiced his displeasure, but he knew not to get nasty. Good Zeus. I've never seen such a...sturdy bengal. I typically see them with the longer and leaner leopard cat build, but I'm betting that he's got a bit more dsh in him. Regardless he is a gorgeous boy who is well loved, and with good reason! ❤
