What do you think is the most annoying part of the transition from dyed to grey hair?
@monikavarro20204 жыл бұрын
The amount of time it takes to transition. I don't want to cut my hair short. I'd rather have two toned hair. 😀

I have been growing mine out for seven months..dyed for 30+ years. My hair has never felt and looked as healthy as it does now. Very easy to work with too!

The most annoying thing for me is how long it's going to take to grow out. I was needing to retouch my greys every two to three months (I was lazy... In reality it needed to be done sooner 😆). But now, it's taken a heck of a long time to grow out. I'm four and a half months in with two and a half inches of growth. It's taking forever!!!!

I think the best thing is to take the focus of your hair and don't obsess about how long it's taking. Before you know it it will grow out. I stopped checking my grey hairs in the mirror. It is whatever colour it is. It's definitely not easy to grow out hair. It takes forever.

It’s definitely a slow process! Sounds like it’s growing at a similar pace to what’s expected. That’s why we need each other for moral support 😉

The most annoying part is the wait! Also the unwanted comments: you are letting yourself go, you look older, you will never date again.
@DitchingDietsDye4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the wait is hard! I try to remind myself the time will pass either way. And, I'm sorry about the unwanted comments. It's not easy, but the comments are almost always more about them than about you.

Imho, if you choose the right colors to complement your salt and pepper look you can play with different effects and achieve really beautiful and unique looks, either more colorful or more neutral. Which bothers me is that I just have some grays for the moment and I don't know how many and where they will grow next, if it will be uniform or just in some areas.

You are so right. There is no way to know where the grey will grow!

Hi! 🖐I'm ditching the dye also and in the process of growing out my hair. I think your hair will look great. You're very pretty with any colour hair. I have dark hair and I'm going cold turkey so you're not alone in your journey. I'm finding the lighter hair is a softer and more youthful look. Just have faith that the end result will be worth it.

Thank you for the kind feedback 😊 Hope your transition is going well!

No problem. I'm only 9 weeks into my transition and it isn't always easy. I'm looking forward to seeing how your hair will turn out. You have a really nice grey going where mine has multiple colours. I can't dye my hair anymore because I had a reaction to the dye and I've decided to grow my natural hair out. I also have really dark hair which doesn't make the transition any easier.

Exactly! I'm only like 3 months in. I want to now RIGHT NOW what it looks like under all the dark dye. I just want to get this dark brown off because my stylist said she cannot get my hair light enough to have gray highlights to soften things. My hair is too weak and thin and too dark. I'm devastated.

Hang in there! Remind yourself why you are doing it and try not to focus on what you can't change. It's not easy, but worth the effort. In my experience, fighting reality causes suffering. You don't need that!

It’s my first month. I want to know right now. WhT colour is it. Do I have a streak hidden somewhere. 😫

I’m celebrating 8 months today! The most annoying thing for me is I wish people wouldn’t be afraid to ask or comment on my hair change. I like to talk about it and hear what people think😊

I feel similar!

Hi, are you planning to just go "cold turkey" or will you be doing anything to help the transition. Meaning, maybe adding highlights. That's the one thing that I find frustrating, is that it's going to take forever!
@DitchingDietsDye4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t ruled anything out yet. I’m going to play it by ear and make decisions as I go. I’ve considered lightening at the front around my face, but haven’t felt too fussed about it to date.

I have the same coloring of eyes and skin as you do and my hair is coming in like yours with salt and pepper color. I want it to go faster because I am so curios!

My last dye was 7 1/2 months ago and I went cold turkey. I wear my hair short short and I only have a tiny bit of faded colour left on the ends. I am amazed at how little hair is on the shower floor after shampooing. I have fairly thick hair but I would loose heaps when shampooing and now hardly any. My hair is so much healthier and also shiny. I also have new baby hair growth around the hair line. I love my pewter grey colour.

That’s amazing! I’m glad to hear your hair is so much healthier 😊

Don't do it, gray is not a good hair color, it makes you look older, go ash blonde or champagne blonde.
