The Most Common Fails in GTAV Speedruns #1

Casual vs Speedrun in GTAV didn't cover what often goes wrong in GTAV Speedruns, so I'm gonna make a few videos that show off some of the fails that commonly happen in the speedrun.
A strat update video covering all the new stuff in the run is in the works as well. There's a new route between Dead Man Walking and MiniSub actually, so some mission numbers will change. And the new stuff like the jump I showed on reposession will be included along with who and how it was found.
Most of these clips are taken from my stream, apologies if the quality or FPS is low on any of them, some of the older clips I was using a different recording method, but all future videos should look much better.
I was slightly inspired to make this video while watching Hugo_one's San Andreas guides, and burhac's new GTAV trevor% guide. Something that I haven't covered much is what can go wrong in speedruns, as thats very useful info for new runners, something that would've helped me greatly. So along with this video being a hybrid "fails montage" and explanation video, that kind of "here's what can go wrong and what you can do as a backup" info will be included in future videos of mine where appropriate.

I know this isn't relevant but if you think about it , Marriage Counseling is one of the most important missions for the story line. If Amanda did not cheat Micheal and Franklin would not have pulled the house down. This means they would not have to do the Jewelry store heist. This would also mean Trevor wouldn't know Micheal was alive . See?

Just getting into GTA 5 speed running. It’s an interesting thing to watch a speed run that’s so long and has so many variables. Your subscription pop up confused me so much initially. Like what mod allows your phone to show Twitch subscriptions? Then I remembered that you can make the animation anything.

Why wouldn't runners start the run after the 5 minute cutscene? Sure mission 1 does have gameplay, but is that worth wasting ~10 minutes of your life for thousands of attempts?

haha this question is a can of worms, you have no idea. the cutscenes are long compared to any other in the game, yes, but they are spread out over the mission, which is down to 5 minutes and 30 seconds long now. so its really only like 2 min of cutscenes, spread out over that time. there's a new glitch/strat that lets you skip one of the cutscenes as well, the one with the train. so its not as necessary at it seems anymore, espc because it would remove gameplay. some games, like mario sunshine i believe, do have "official" speedrun mods that remove a super long opening cutscenes, but specifically, they dont remove any gameplay. As well, modding GTAV is not as simple, as it can cause other weird effects down the line (for example, simply having a mod menu installed but not loaded can make your car faster without even meaning to), so it's a big weird space the community wants to avoid of allowing mods to the game. 99% of speedruns are just THE GAME without any changes, as that's kind of the end-all mindset of speedruns.
