I gotta disagree. The main 2 changes are atakhan, which spawns at 20 mins so hard to consider it sweeping even if it is pretty strong; and the feats of strength, which need at least 1 tower taken or 3 jungle objectives taken, then in order to get t3 boots you need to already have 2 legendary items so that also wont be available until about 20 mins. The feats of strength also remove first blood and first tower gold so thats technically less money for snowballing.

@@tommo4356 it's inherently related. You can get the first 3 objectives without sweeping the game moron. League needs to stop with the come back mechanics. The entire point of the genre of moba games is that resource management is important. You start equal, and your actions over time lead to gold and experience income until someone wins. Early actions inherently need to impact late actions. If you can win the early game and lose your lead off of one fight, the game is in a bad state (barring very slow, late game, incremental games)

First thing I thought, as a jungle main, seeing Atakahn was, oh boy another thing to contest. Another reason to rely on my laners to have prio, another reason to get flamed for jungle diff. Riot knows the jungle has a lot to deal with, hence why they moved the grubs spawn back so it doesn’t match dragon. But then they just drop this? I don’t like.

This is going to be the jungle snowball patch it feels like. The issue is first blood and first tower are things that a jungler may not be able to influence (a laner dying level 1 is sort of out of the junglers hands) but first blood of a gank is feasible, and 3 epic monsters is all on the jungler to ensure lanes have priority near objectives so you can contest those objectives. Junglers are going to be so massively important for every single one of these changes. It's gonna make it a very rough role to play casually

Did they ever 'cover the problems in bandaids' before? Because as far as i see it the game just got snowballier and snowballier with time and nothing was ever done to fight that issue. Nothing that could truly change anything at least. Like sure cool you might get a bounty or two but the gold gain is absolutely minimal and you rely on the enemy team making mistakes, not on your own team playing properly.

Bounties are a sad pathetic joke. Damage is still the only metric that matters in the game and the team that is fed deals more damage anyway. Sure comebacks are possible but only if the winning team is super cocky and makes bad plays, turtling when you are losing is impossible. So tell me, how is the game less snowbally?

Something to note: The "boots rush will be strong" take is wrong. It says right above the tier 3 info that it's after you buy two Legendary items. So you can't upgrade to tier 3 until you already hit those. In theory I don't have a problem with them making boots more impactful. In practice...we'll see lol

the thing with deep ward is, for most supports one sweeper cast gives enough time to only destroy 2 wards - needing an additional auto on the ward might reduce that to 1

Deep ward also makes early warding infinitely safer on uptime. Early lane most teams don't have scanners, so getting an extra half minute on your early level vision is a pretty massive safety buff.

Ive seen lots of games where a toplaner is crazy fed and snowballing hard, but cant convert to a win bc of how long it can take to move your lead elsewhere. Now if your toplaner is getting smashed atakana can spawn top and be a free obj for enemy team

I wouldn't say the game relies on the jungle for objects, like yes, the are a slightly bigger part of taking objectives, but to say we are reliant on the jungler when the jungler needs to take into account the state of the lanes before taking objectives?, basically it will always be a team effort even if there is one lane doing super well, it requires everyone doing their part and imo, maybe having an objective that's essentially right next to a lane will help be a kick up the asses of alot of laners to take action on objectives and take some ownership of the game. This is a common mentality I find most league players have and tbh, it needs to stop. Now laners taking smite, I reckon support and yeah mid would be the best candidates, although if this becomes popular i could see a fair few more players exploiting the good old Tilterella strat of a support perma invading the enemy jungler sniping camps. Imagine a new meta when you have perma roaming smite wielding camp stealing supports and dueling adcs/mages in bot lane.

Eh. I feel like what we’re not getting about feats is it basically is giving you a bigger spike at a part of the game where the spikes are less swingy. You’re not getting big gold infusions early so the game state is still competitive. the other team then gets put on a clock to try and open up a lead which will counteract the delayed power that comes with feats.

About the boots i thought that if they want to keep them wit such string upgrades, maybe then beeing able for anyone but working similar to the boots rune. Like, if you achieve the uofrade requirements, the team that has done so gets the boots earlier. Example "if ur team gets first blood you can access the uograde 3 minutes earlier"

I think for sure the Atakan can stay up even after baron spawn since it can appear on either top or bottom lane and not in the pits. Plus there's no way it would affect dragon spawn even if Atakan appear in the bot lane since dragon spawn is based on when it is taken by the teams instead of a fixed time like baron.

I’m indifferent. I used to be a ranked solo/duo player only. I’d say over the past few years the time/games I devote to league is down 75 percent. And what little I do play is draft with friends. The last round of item nerfs really killed my enthusiasm. Not because I disagreed with the rationale , but because it was ineffective. There is sooo much damage in the game that ability damage would have been the better target over items. If you want to slow things down I think a blanket damage cut of 15 percent damage is needed across the board with maybe a new dedicated item or buffs for tank shred.

Right now teleporting to lane is about 85% faster, and ghosting to lane is about 15% faster. (5 seconds, vs 18 seconds, vs 21 seconds) Depending on how slow it is now, and how good the new homeguard is, it might actually be statistically viable to run ghost over teleport, and just ghost to lane.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that has this viewpoint on the changes, I think the worst is the boots. This is a bad change because it add more weight of things out of your control, like if my teammate is losing lane and loses both first tower and FB that’s feats of strength or a if JG ganks bot then first drag that’s FOS also. It’s so easy to lose fos and you don’t even have a chance to stop it, not to mention the actual items from them look on par with some 2.5k gold items

As someone who plays a bit of ranked now and then and hangs around gold (the average rank) there is nothing more exciting than changes to the maps and objectives, I love how league controls and I like a lot of characters but league is at it's worst when it feels like you're perfecting the game by doing the same thing over and over, I want more variance, I want more fun I want every game to feel different If I want a game where I meticulously study and play an "optimal game", chess has way shorter queue times and no teammates to get angry at I'm glad league is embracing the fact it's a video game and adding some more fun video gamey stuff into it

Honestly at this point, and I love the summ to death, they might as well get rid of Teleport if they're going to keep nerfing/reworking it. No changes they have made to that summoner spell have ever made it to the "healthy" criteria that Riot has for their vision of the game, so it's probably much easier to just burn it to the ground. Maybe leave it in as a treat for the Spellbook rune or something, but the near yearly TP changes are just getting kinda annoying now.
