The Most Effective Pendulum Sweep Setup I Had Early On in BJJ

The other day I was messing around with an old Pendulum Sweep setup that I don't really use much anymore, but that used to be one of my favorite options from Full Guard as a BJJ White Belt. Now I don't use it much anymore because I branched off into other Jiu-jitsu positions like Half Guard and Butterfly Guard.
That said, it's still a great setup that you can add to your Brazilian Jiu-jitsu game in order to work towards things like the Pendulum Sweep or even back takes.
I call the position "The Axe" primarily because the point of the elbow and configuration of the arm makes me think of an axe.
I also show 2 ways to get into the position.

I use that grip break for the back take like that, but it's nice to see the 'axe' grip as an alternative to the lat like a force multiplier to the sweep.

This is absolutely one of my go to moves. If I get to gift wrap I feel like I have the sweep 99.9% of the time.

Now, when I get smashed into guard (white belt), I can try to set this up. I can pull off the pendulum sweep but this set up leads right to the attack my coach keeps showing us from mount. So cool. For me, this video had an awesome grip break, a new way for me to get posts off of my stomach in no-gi (which might help save my face in mma), an explanation of how you should load the pendulum sweep and a way to turn a pendulum sweep into a really solid submission set up. I feel like I should be donating something to your school.

Funny our head teacher got us to go at this sweep again just yesterday but with a different setup like only a straight same side pocket grip with a bowman pull on the sleeve to then turn reach under and pendulum, your setup is really nice but for my part i like if i can to go from a lapel grip because if you hit that sweep it's a 6 points sweep + mount excellent in competition but then you have to fight from mount, but with a lapel on mount position the collar control is done and from there the match is pretty much over in an instant you just have too many options for your opponent to defend that much in a short period of time.

Hi Chewy, this is my favourite sweep at the moment, and I often get the sweep but without the "axe" wrap - usually by holding onto the lat. I'm a blue belt and I tend to struggle with finishing submissions from it. I think it's a hesitation/lack of confidence issue. Is there any way you could show an effective transition into a finish using this sweep?
