​@kacchankobra for real. It's like people have never been in a long-term relationship before the way they throw around "just leave" so flippantly. A 4 year relationship means your lives are typically pretty well enmeshed and that makes leaving a more than 5 minute long process. You're often living together, you may have shared pets or friend circles, you rely on eachother for emotional support, and you really do love eachother, its just being masked by the cycle of negative communication patterns. Honestly if they're that deep into a relationship and they both love eachother but are having trouble cooperating and communicating in a healthy way it's typically better to actually give mending the relationship a chance unless there is actual abuse going on. This gives both parties an opportunity to tackle the problem as a team and if you succeed your relationship ends up stronger as you both learn and grow and if not at least you know you tried because if you do just leave often times people just bring that same type of conflict into their next relationship because they never did the work to become better. My wife and I had a rough patch years ago in our relationship before we got married where I had to make the ultimatum that if we didn't go to counseling together I was going to have to leave because it was not healthy anymore. We didn't truly want to be hurting eachother but we were stuck in a cycle of lashing out because of a grudge from when the other person lashed out. We had about a year of couples counseling and individual as well and we have been working consistently together outside of therapy ever since. I am so grateful that I didn't "just leave" and that we were both willing to put in the work together to stay together. Without that I wouldn't still have my amazing wife and now my son all these years down the road, two people I wouldn't trade for anything. Also to play devils advocate or give him the benefit of doubt he did say that she has similar reactions when the roles are reversed and if that is the case I can see how he might have been hurt not as much about her forgetting the video existed but more so the double standard of how she expects his response to be versus hiw she ressponds when the shoe is not the other foot, and he reacted poorly out of spite/anger. Everyone is so quick to villainize him because they saw him reacting poorly but they have no idea what part she plays in perpetuating and contributing to this unhealthy communication and they just assume she is a blameless victim.

The problem was that the guy was all bent on being upset about it. When she said something along the lines of "I can't believe you found it", he took it as if she was saying "I buried it so well, I can't believe you found it", but it's more likely she was saying that it was a short video recorded 10 years ago that got zero attention, so it's weird that it still exists at all. He was upset that someone showed him something he didn't know about the person he's with, so he went the douchebag route of accusing her of trying to hide it from him. Also, I think when it sounded like he was saying "You were lying on me not finding it," I think he meant to say "You're relying on me not finding it." Again, still accusing her of trying to hide it, but I think in context that is what he was trying to say.

I'm grateful for one thing in life, and it might just be the only thing I need to be grateful for. And its that I'll never be this guy, or act like this guy. Thank the heavens for that. I could see if it was an OF, Adult actress career, lady of the night, or something significant that definitely held some weight being held secret, and would upset most normal people. But this is even less concerning than forgetting your phone is in your pocket and looking for it for 5 minutes and laughing when you realize. Nope. That's a toxic relationship right there. The way he's acting but also the fact he is confronting her in front of the entire internet rather than having a private conversation about it later.
