so true! last week i went bouldering and i fell from a pretty high up point and had to catch myself on one foot bc i had some pain in my other leg already - and being able to catch myself with a roll on impact in pretty much any direction (learned from parkour and martial arts) pretty much saved my ass there, nothing happened at all. the mats are thick there ofc, but i fell almost from the top there (which idk like 3-5meters high? im bad at estimating sht like that) and catching that on one leg onky would've been naaasty, could kiss my coach for drilling backward rolls/multidirectional falls at the beginning similar thing happened when i clipped my foot on a wall during cat pass once - during the fall I was sure that this would be a disgusting bail, but my body did all the work and surprised me with a quick catch while my brain was still whining over how i would probably break sth great video!
