As a die hard Kings fan, saying Sabonis is so short sighted and a lot of recency bias. Still put up 16/11/5 in the playoffs, when our shooters (Huerter and Barnes) did not show up at all. If you watched the Kings Rusty, you’d know a lot of Sabonis’ offensive game is reliant on the scorers around him too. Can’t ignore the fact he helped break the playoff drought, lead the league in rebounding, 2nd in triple doubles, all star, and 3rd team all NBA. The overrated title should go to Huerter. Wildly inconsistent and a non factor when his 3 is not hitting.

People fail to realize when 2 of your starters who shot 41% and 38% from 3 in the regular season drop to 25 and 20, it shrinks the floor and renders Sabonis’ passing game less effective and exposes his offensive weaknesses. Hopefully Sabonis’ hand heals over summer and he can work on driving right more and that mid range. Go Kings!

His shooting was also inconsistent for stretches during the regular season and Harrison Barnes isn't overrated either. For Toronto, I think the answer should be O.G. Anunoby. On literally every podcast I listen to, people are constantly proposing OG Anunoby trades like he's the answer to every flailing team's problems. Look, I get that wings who can defend and shoot are valuable. But he's not some star. He's entering Year 7 and his development has been stagnant for three years now. He's stiff and mechanical on offense, and not capable of a heavy scoring load. His defense is very good, but he's not going to singlehandedly solve the defensive issues of the teams people keep wanting to put him on.

I think there are two areas that puts OG higher than you agree with. OG is not a very good defensive player he is an excellent defensive player and has been for years. Yes defense is not as important as offence but a top 10 D in his prime who is not a negative on O is very rare. Which brings to the second point he has a skill set that would improve every team in the league and is even more important in the playoffs. Other than what a bonifide superstar can bring to the table he has the skill set that is hardest to find. Bonus points for being a positive locker room guy. He is a very likeable team mate.

Brooks is the single most damaging offensive player in the entire NBA. And yet he's somehow making $20 million. He's also kind of a toxic personality. Even though he's widely hated by the NBA community, the fact that he's still making anything besides a minimum contract proves he's overrated. For the Lakers it's clearly Lebron. He plays no defense. Actually watch the games this season and you'll easily see he stands around 90% of the time with his hands at his side. On offense if he doesn't have the ball doing his bowling ball freight train to the basket where he shoves off he's standing at the 3 pt line doing nothing. Because he's incapable of playing off the ball. This is why Wade had to take a step back/adjust his game in Miami. Because lebron was incapable of playing off the ball. He's never been able to play off the ball. You can't be a great player if you're only able to play one way. Like I said, watch the Lakers play this season and watch lebron on offense when he doesn't have the ball. And watch him on defense. Don't watch where the ball is, that's what casual fans do, watch lebron the entire time.

Yeah, AG was the 3rd best player on the Nuggets, mostly because of his defense and offensive chemistry. MPJ is a better scorer, but is mostly used as a high level 3&D guy because he is an exceptional shooter, and he can't have the ball that much as a 3rd scoring option on that team. MPJ still has next level to go, but as of now AG is more important than MPJ.

I would have given the MVP to Jokic, but Embiid’s playoff struggles aren’t a good reason why he shouldn’t have gotten the award in my opinion. You could say that that’s a reason why he’s not the best player in the world, but in my opinion the MVP should go to the player who had the most impactful regular season, and that’s it. Kd problem is he can’t get to the rim at all so he takes tough shots which causes his playoff drops these last past 3 years as a kd my expectations has dropped for him as the guy if people do that then he won’t be overrated

There were countless times where he was forcing up shots with 12+ seconds left on the clock instead of trying to move the ball around or go for a hop step or spin gather. It seems like KD is more focused on keeping his game the way it was before he got injured as opposed to improving upon the weaker parts of his game. His playmaking ability has definitely declined from his days in OKC and GS

I believe dort is one of the best on ball defender's 1-3 plus the way he navigates screens is easily up there. Hes a class ball hawk and extremely valuable for okc and other teama that rely on portability and defensive strengths. Yh he shoots too much atm but chip English. Also hes a young player thats not seen as more than a valuable starter for the okc. Doesn't scream overrated.

Terrible take on Mitchell Robinson. He really is the secret sauce on the Knicks. It’s not his offense, or even his defense, though both are great. It’s his rebounding, particularly offensive rebounding. He’s #1 in contested rebounds in the league, he’s giving the Knicks so many second opportunities. That’s why the offense was rated so high on a team that isn’t necessarily spectacular at shooting or moving the ball.

for me, it is weird that you picked Cam Johnson for the Nets, I can't see why is in any way overrated, especially not with his contract. There are still so many people around who believe in Ben Simmons (what I don't get), Lonnie Walker is nothing but an inconsistent bucket-getter while being an underwhelming shooter from 3, exactly the same goes for Cam Thomas, and Nic Claxton is a very much worse version of Evan Mobley. The only player that is kind of properly payed in this roster is Cam Johnson, players like Bridges or Dennis Smith Junior are underpayed, but Johnson is one of the best shooters in the League, can dribble, is 6-10, is more than just a decent defender and has some ways of pull-up Game (what players like Duncan Robinson does not have, he is a pure spot-up Guy).

as a raptors fan I'd say Jakob poeltl, primarily because of his limits offensively. I'm not mad that he can't pass the basketball, but I've never seen the guy in a DHO, getting guys the backdoor passes, etc. Also he cannot score outside 3 feet and it's really annoying how he's constantly clogging the lane and has extremely low offenisve iq in general. Defensively he's fine, obviously gets exposed in the PnR, but is a bad roamer, not a weakside help defender and he's value overall really only comes in as a rim protector/play finisher. I think he's an ok player that can come off the bench, but no playoff team would want to start the guy. Almost like they treat him as if he's as good as RW3, Myles Turner, Clint etc.

I understand you're a KD hater but I'd definitely go with Bol Bol for the Suns. Simply for the fact a number of people still think he has some kind of superstar potential when his ceiling at this point is probably a more skilled but far lower energy version of Chris Boucher
