Based on the title and thumbnail, I was fully expecting Legend to nuke the garrison army in order to get the reinforcements in. The only thing more Skaven than leaving your allies to die is killing them yourself.

Hey, that's actually my save and golly, did I learn a lot in this video (especially about the technology - you should've definetly make a video about little information about each race like that)! I think even using the menace from below and warpbomb in the begining is just so good, and looks easy but when done irl by me usually doesn't even net me half of the kills. The mortars were made for conquest of Nakai vassal but happend to be defending the D Day landing of lizards (in 16:48 you can see Tiqtaq also coming in hot). Great video as usual and thanks a lot for helping me!

About warp bomb: look for melee infantry, those that will rush at you. You need to spawn the menace below in a way that the manse below will be surrounded so they cannot get away when they flee. With practice this will become easier.

The skaven AI did this to me once. They ambushed me over the end turn while I wasn't even watching the screen. I managed to beat the first army and was running them down, when all of a sudden a whole weapons team army emerges from a forest and just rains warpstone on me. Almost made me ragequit that campaign. Managed to get a victory after a few tries, but my army was so wrecked that the campaign was over a few turns later (quite early in the campaign and I was already a bit over extended in another war).

I would like this to be represented more in gameplay. Elves and dwarves should be basically terminators, but take ages to recruit and replenish. Greenskins and skaven should be dirt cheap and easily replaced. I know it's a bit like that already, but the difference should be way more pronounced to encourage more lore friendly gameplay. With settlements it's already quite good when comparing dwarves to skaven, but elves should be slower to build and greenskins should be faster and cheaper. Also dwarf settlements should have walls at tier 2.

@@janheikel7751 I agree in principle that the evil factions should have more disposable/quicker to train units, which could be achieved with unit caps, or even settlement population being an actual population pool to draw from rather than just an upgrade counter. But elves aren't terminators. Not at all. They're squishy as anything. Their strength is skill, not brute force Population sizes would make balancing the actual unit numbers better, at the moment the good factions eventually ignore supply lines and the evil ones eventually succumb to them (except Skaven maybe) but population limits would be much harder to just brush off

They were firing, just at random targets. There was no need to really focus fire them since the only units that really needed to die were the Bastiladons and flyers, which mortals do jack to, so having them fire at anything was acceptable.

Didnt even use the mortars. I really love roleplaying the races when I play them and so far Skaven is one of my favorites behind dwarves and VC. Nothing better than watching longbeards and skavenslaves both choke to death on deathwind globes. Also, fell in love with this strat of having an army full of gutter runners, skirmishing the enemy and withdrawing. Its so perfectly skaven and worked somewhat like I expected.

I think the peak number of poison wind mortars in an army is 2. 2 will consistently make value in field battles and hard carry sieges. 2 PWMs and 3 Plagueclaws is the way.

Personally i go for 3 plague priest , 3 ratling guns , 3 jazzeils , 3 poison wind mortars , 3 plagueclaws and 3 warp lightning cannon with a lord and a hero engineer .

Plague Lord, 2 plague priests, 2 engineers, 5 warplock jezzails, 5 rattling guns, 3 PWM and 2 plague claws was my go to Clan Skyre army. Clan Skyre boosts the weapons team so much that I think you d get way more value out of an extra wpm than a catapult.

@@SM-rr9thI find that the extra PWM except in sieges where you can use them all sequentially just ends up cannibalising damage from the other two. Two is enough to basically saturate an advancing enemy line.

@@AshenVictorThey are great when your spellcasters isn't high level, so you can't clear siege batlles with just spells. WPMs will melt them for you. I put 1 in each corner and 1 in middle and just micro the heroes and lord and spawn slaves to hold the line. Tbh weapons team will melt any infantry based armies. But I would trade them for a warp lighting/catapults or another set of jezzails/ratling guns if I am facing a faction with fast, big units. They don't deal enough damage to them and if you stop the oncoming enemy unit with slaves they ll do more damage to the slaves than the enemy.

Poison wind mortars can indeed replace Plague catapults and do a better job if you modify the stack slighty , you can have Lightinng cannons to do the same and better job vs large units, siege attacker and towers.
