The Most Underrated Anime Of The Year (Summertime Render Honest Review)

In This Video, I will be giving my honest review of the anime Summertime Render and ranking the characters on a tier list! My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. I will be talking about what makes it one of the greatest Anime of the season that is a much watch... by insulting everything about it. Season 1 of this anime was released on Apr 15, 2022. There is currently only one season with no sign of another since the story concludes (25 Episodes). There is a manga novel that you can read as well as another manga Summertime Rendering 2026: The Room that Dreams of Murder as well as a light novel Summertime Render 2026: Shousetsuka Nagumo Ryuunosuke no Ibun Hyakkei. This video contains light spoilers so be aware if you plan on watching the anime or reading the manga. This anime is not currently available in the English dub but I think it will be soon.

It was anime for the year for me too. I've just watched Made in Abyss S02 which took first place, but that's more about trying weird and philosophical concepts in fantasy world. Summertime Rendering is by far the best mystery of this year.

I'm here after watching the entire thing 3 sets of binge-watching (not because I wanted to pause, but because I had to). It was extremely good from beginning to end what the heck. Even if the characters appear to be simple at first, I liked all of them to the extreme, even the bad guys. Definitely one of the best animes of last year.

Never even heard of this, saw it on hulu and kept passing it by for a day or 2. Finally I was bored and clicked on it and this show might actually be on my top 15. It slides into the 15 spot, but it's still there. It's so so so good.

I agree with your point about the characters being kinda a weak point. I liked them but I found it a bit hard to be super invested in them. I definitely think the show is really good but some of the plot holes & characters kinda left me wishing for a bit more. I probably wouldn't have it in my top 3 of the year but it definitely deserves to be talked about and watched with all the top tier anime that came out this year.

I guess for me it was that sound which would play when something about the shadows surfaced, you know the one which sounds a lot similar to demon slayers' episode starting title showing time which goes like "keeeeeyyyyyyeeeee....tururung" or something like that.

Honestly not a completely awful show but it's just a sub-par Higurashi imitation. Characters aren't really developed well and important plot elements are thrown around to fast (blink and you'll miss it), and whenever there's a conflict the MC just flash backs to off screen conversations that reveal the plan/solution. Honestly just watch the Higurashi series if you're looking for a good horror mystery.

The slang is intentional, it's put in a T/N that the Japanese uses the Kansai dialect, which has cultural and linguistic similarities to the American Southern accent

Summertime Rendering was such an intense mystery anime that it challenged the best episodes of Re:Zero, quite a masterpiece. I loved every part of it from the start till the end (animation, characters not being aren't 14 years old, soundtrack, pacing, editing, ending arc, etc). For me is by far the second best anime of 2022, after Made in Abyss Season 2, but that's more of a psychological and philosophical journey than an action anime. I am sad Disney made us all see it "legally" thought VPN or just pirating, maybe if it was on Crunchyroll it would have been much more hyped and watched. I hope your introductory video will make people see the show and enjoy it.

I loved this anime so much but was kinda disappointed with the ending. I wish he had to accept the reality of permanently losing his first love (Ushio) and possibly developing a stronger relationship with Mio or no one at all and drift away in heartbreak while giving us no clear direction of what he truly winds up doing in case they decide to make a sequel.

the "yer" was kinda odd to me initially, But in one of the first episodes Shinpei says "your" And one of the other characters remarks that He talks like a city dweller. So I can appreciate the intent, And by the halfway point kinda forgot "your" as a word.

It's because all of the characters speak with a heavy Kansai dialect (the setting is in Wakayama prefecture). Localizers tend to interpret Kansai dialects as Southern accents.

only reason this anime was a hidden gem is because it was locked in disney jail. the sequel manga is pretty short, you can probably finish the entire thing under 30minutes or if your a fast reader 10-15.
