Currently debating a pair of urban loggers in waxed flesh or trying the walnut work leather in roughout and treating myself to get a similar look that's a bit more unique. Not sure if my results would be great but I like the idea of getting a thicc work leather with the characteristics of the waxed flesh.

Too bad i got my black bison Nicks two weeks ago. However, I have been enjoying the no break-in for the upper. Just taking forever to get my footbed worked in.

I had the same experience on my 1964 Brown. Thankfully a year later and the boots are amazingly comfortable!

Black waxed flesh is the best looking patina. Brown looks great new but black looks a lot more like the brown once it's been used!

I wish there was a way to bring that black waxed finish back if you wanted instead of having it just turn brown. Getting the patina is nice, but resetting it and enjoying it all over again is so fun. So far people have only been able to bring it back as a super dark brown.

It is cool but the brown waxed flesh is already pretty dark and almost looks black in certain lightings

Can someone clarify this for me? Is black waxed flesh black roughout and the brown waxed flesh is brown roughout? Or is the difference just the color of the wax they put on the roughout?

The difference is in the colour of the dye used on the surface of the roughout, before the wax is added.

As someone who owns several pairs, I’m not buying another until shell cordovan is an option with a barefoot style build. Inflexible boots with arch support and a high heel is not conducive to long term foot health.

@@memefeed2147 interesting. I've only recently been going into leather boots. how about crown northampton? Idk if you consider those barefoot but they're as flat as it gets next to foam. unless you're talking about width wise for the spread of toes for barefoot.

@@RagnarokGenesis00 I have a pair of crown Northampton’s in shell cordovan, it’s my dress shoe, too narrow for my feet comfortably for everyday use and not flexible at all. I wear Gaucho Ninjas in shell cordovan.
