One day, famed novelist Agatha Christie seemingly disappeared into thin air, a mystery all too similar to those in her own books.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

This is the first Drunk History that I genuinely was going to turn off, and I mean I wasnt far into it either and I couldnt take anymore of this f*cking cretins bufoonery! What an asshole... what an annoying ASSHOLE! Genuine question folks, have you ever gone drinking with someone and they start acting like this woman??? I know for sure you wouldnt do it twice. Without doubt one of the most annoying f*cktards EVER on this show... possibly just EVER, yeah the most annoying person I have ever seen is a STRONG possibility! Edit: Alison Rich, what a cretin!

We're taking it with us. Cancel the 'Pryor/Brando Hookup" episode and you get me this couch. I don't care how much. Just cut a check and get wrapped in linen and gently placed in the truck. Also, the video doesn't mention that her mother had died earlier in the year, and she was supposedly quite close to her. So maybe she just needed a vacation to get away from everything, like a mental health break, and didn't expect the police to launch such a massive search party.

@Black Rod Are you familiar with Christie's work? She seems to have been negatively impacted by this time in her life, and her writing takes a serious hit in quality because of it. For example, The Big Four was her first Poirot published after her disappearance, and it's often cited as one of her very worst books. It's confusing and chaotic and lacks the careful plotting she's known for. It's also interesting that she began writing a few novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott soon after her disappearance. Her depressive state was well-documented at the time. Some wilder theories claim she intended to commit suicide. Some doctors thought she entered a depressive fugue, and didn't even know what she was doing. If she was emotionally overwrought, thinking logically and leaving a note might not have been possible. Or she didn't believe a crashed car would be capable of causing such a large and intense manhunt, and didn't really think she needed to leave a note. Or maybe she was trying to embarrass her husband, or temporarily frame him, and purposefully didn't leave a note for this very reason, but that doesn't mean she expected the entire country to focus on her disappearance.

Visplight she was actually working undercover with detectives in another area of London on a cold case of a woman who was murdered on a train several years prior. It was true that she was going through a very tough time in her private life and the cold case and going undercover was a great opportunity to escape for a while. There was a movie released in 2018 called “ The Truth of Murder. The movie is all about her disappearance and was quite good.

I don't know about the disappearance but the cause that led to it has been well described in two of her books 1. Unfinished portrait 2. Come, tell me how you live In both the books ,She wanted the husband to stay for the child but he chose not to and in both the books the child said to the mother that even if her father didn't like her mother, he liked her because the father and daughter were very similar. And in both books, she lost her mother not so long before the husband decided to leave her.

Frankly, my “theory” is that she just wanted a goddamn break from being a celebrity and her idiot husband. I don’t understand why people are still confused about this event.

There have been cases where someone under extreme stress just kind of.... Leaves. They assume a new identity without knowing and live a whole different life. It's a type of dissociation. Eventually, they remember who they are usually and come back.

That's too bad that she was the most stressful drunk because her story telling was the best-- filled with engaging descriptions and interactive acting instead of supplementing slovenly inebriation with an excess of swearing. It was a great story with ironic, humorous acting. So good!
