I remember the controversy of Lionel Ritchie who's 70 years old and was dating a woman in her 30's, black women lost their minds over it. Leonardo DiCaprio also got a lot flack because he was a serial dater of women in their 20's. Many famous older men do have younger women. Al Pacino at 80 recently impregnated his much younger girlfriend, he is over 50 years older. The actor Tony Randall ( Felix Unger of the original odd couple), was with his wife till she passed away but with no children. Few years later at 75 he remarried a 25 year old whom he had 2 kids with and were together till he died. Ironically Elon Musk has a kid with a woman but the age gap of 15 years is not a big deal, it's just odd that she is his employee and it's his 12th kid (but hey he can afford them)

Good for you. I'm in the UK, its fairly excepted. A lot of my friends have married younger women of varying age gaps between 6 to 20 years. One women in my apartment block was 22 with a 50 plus BF they lived here for 4 years and moved and got a house together. But I also watch a lot of US crime shows, including Judge Judie, a women that's been married multiple times, educating America by dressing down guys who take their younger ex GF to court, by saying "You know a man who's 33 should know better than dating a woman who's 22. They are still babies at 20. You know it's inappropriate - Not smart." I have seen similar opinions on US true crime shows, or even MTVs Catfish. It annoys me that that attitude prevals on some US shows. I know that age gap relationships do happen in the US but we never really get a UK TV show making an issue of such things.

There was a conversation at work a while ago that was initiated by an article of a 60 year old rockstar with an 18 year old woman. I live in the US. My next door neighbor is about 60 and married to a filipina in her mid 20s. At first I thought this was strange. However, I no longer feel this way. She is very kind, and a hard working person who has much to offer in their relationship. With her help and support, they have even started a small business that is rapidly expanding. Also, as their neighbor, I have been exposed to lumpia and pork belly, which is awesome. I'm very happy for my neighbor, and am grateful to have been exposed to Filipino culture.

I believe one of the biggest differences between women of the Philippines and western women. Is I would wager to say probably 80% of Philippine women. Have worked some sort of hard labor job in their life. If not for many years. As opposed to well over 80% of western women. Have never had a real hard-working job. As a 35-year-old American born and raised man. What I always say when I try to describe what I mean to people. Is, “you may have a job. But I actually work for a living!” Most American and European women have absolutely no clue what it is to have to sweat and bleed every single day to get a job done. Exactly. To say otherwise is like claiming to sign somebody's name better than they can. The nuances and justification for the relationship is between only the involved persons. Imbalance of power has been a part of relationships since cave man. We all know women hold the key to power about the relationship. Men only can choose women who want to be chosen. A woman who is "equal" can always divorce, split the assets, and find another mate - that's some power, since they are the true choosers of who they mate with - they hold the real power.

I have a 38 year gap with my girlfriend. I live in thailand, she is from Laos. I could have went younger. Everyone loves her, including my son. We get along, she is agreeable, cleans, cooks and is a freak in the sheets. We both enjoy traveling, same music and the club scene. Yes, I am old but I like going to clubs. I was in the military my whole life and had to work out my whole life so I look younger, good body and good health. I don't act old, she appreciates that. We talk about cultural differences and work things out. Believe me, I could have went younger, I have dated anywhere from 20-30 and a lot of early 20 year olds.

At 50, I met a girl of 25. I had concerns about how young she was, as I had nothing in common any girl 25 in the US. But we hit it off and had a lot of goals and values from which to build something from. She appreciated who and what I was, and I felt the same. After 4 years and multiple 30 day visits and about a million texts, calls and video chats I finally admitted that she was the one. And I got married on my 55th bday (2 weeks before she would be 30) we both walked the aisle. That was 7 years ago, and it has not been perfect, but it has been dang good, spending our days spoiling each other. BTW, love the closers! Always worth sticking around for.

There are opinions on everything in life, and everybody has one! I am 61, my fiance is 42 and Filipina. We are soon to be married and we both could not be happier! We agree on almost every topic from kids to food choices and almost everything else! We enjoy each other's company and find happiness together everywhere we go. We make each other happy in every way. And the fact that she is just a little bit older than the average western man/Filipina woman relationship, works for us and that is what matters to us... This video had an excellent topic. About 10 years ago, here in the US, I had a relationship where I was 53 and she was 21. It lasted about 6 years and produced a child. Long story, but my point is, hardly anybody approved even after we were together for years. It made things difficult for sure. Often people would express rude comments and of course that didn't help anything. Finally we imploded from the weight of it all. My little girl is 7 now and is a blessing beyond compare, so yes, even though it wasn't easy, it was worth it.

Recently, I went to the Philippines after learning about the Philippines over the last few years. I see many of your points. I am a Canadian that went to see a provincial Filipina, who is 8 years younger. We can be very different in culture, topic discussions, life experiences and energy levels. I am very outgoing and energetic person while she is quiet and reserved. We bring different experiences to our happy relationship.

I can only say what I have experienced and lived through here in America, once a man here gets into his 40s. we start to become invisible to most women here in America, It gets worse as we get older. When I visited the Philippines and continues to visit, I was amazed on many levels how the people are to a foreigner as myself. The looks I get when I walk around, I never gotten here in America. It left without question they was interested of for me to approach. I tell my male friends that is struggling in dating, How I met my wife and about your beautiful country. Five years westernized in the U S and we divorced...we were 22 years apart in age.... people questioned her harshly about marrying such an older man...im healthy and not over weight but all the questions continuously embarassed her so that was it...she didn't use that for the excuse but it was what it was...if we had lived in the Philippines i have no doubt wed still be together...sad experience❤
