The DISRESPECT is about the NBA REFS not giving him the same calls as other players in similar situations. At the ASG break Jokic is 49th in FTr (FTA per FGA) at 0.322 and that's currently 25th amongst Centers. The MVP Center has 24 Centers getting more favorable whistles than him. That's what we're pointing out. Embiid and Giannis, Jokic's current main competition for MVP are at 0.584 and 0.602. good for 3rd and 4th in the league in that stat lead by Gobert at 0.827. That means if Jokic was getting a FTr equal to Embiid, he'd have 237 MORE FTA than he does now. That would be approximately 191 more points for Jokic and the Nuggets which is 3.3 more points for both as well. That would be AT LEAST 2 more wins for the Nuggets and would put Jokic on par with the league leaders in PTS/G and would increase his efficiency numbers even more.

The same thing happened before the 2018 draft when European fans like me knew Luka was one of the greatest players our continent had ever produced... BEFORE he had ever played an NBA game. And you had this discourse pre draft about 'I don't care about this kid from Europe' regarding the number 1 pick just dismissing him.

Great video LOW! A couple points: 1. THANK YOU for bringing up the “Curry for MVP” thing last season. That’s the first thing I thought when I heard that argument about Denver’s seeding, so I’m glad it got voiced 2. Part of me wonders if Ja’s massive leap forward (which is impressive, no doubt) has just afforded the media the opportunity to backtrack off of all the Zion hype and “course correct” on who they pick as the league’s next big thing. Again, that’s not to diminish Ja; however, we know how the media picks their people and wants so badly to be right, even if it means backtracking in plain sight clinging to silly arguments. I think that, for the time being, they’re VERY worried they got Zion wrong, and they needed someone else. Just at that moment, Ja leveled up, and here we are 🤷🏾♂️
@pittland442 жыл бұрын
You bring up a great point about Ja Morant. I was honestly not a huge fan of Zion coming out in the draft. He never struck me as a guy who was special. Don't get me wrong Zion is an insanely talented guy with a lot of great physical gifts and if he wanted to he could be the next Larry Johnson/Charles Barkley. However, I haven't seen anything from Zion that tells me he wants to be that man. Ja on the other hand I honestly thought had all the makings of a star and he had the right amount of Chip on his shoulder a la Steph Curry or someone else out of a smaller school where they scouts weren't sure about him. Ja wants it, Zion doesn't seem to. That having been said, I think you're on to something. The media has been pushing Zion as the next big thing for two years and while he's played well at points, he hasn't done anything mind blowing. Ja on the other hand has taken his game to the next level. However, the medias focus on him seems a little, forced. I think you might have hit the nail on the head.

Jokic was born in my country, he was born in an area where people are relaxed, they are not in a hurry and that is why he is so natural at press conferences. e, I know very well that he is not even burdened with statistics,numbers , it probably doesn't matter too much whether he will be the MVP or not because he was educated in basketball in Serbia, where the club and the team are ahead of the individual,is not selfish and the play to win every gam,and do not chase numbers but play for pleasure .

You right about the xenophobic vibes. As a raptors fan, the amount of people hating on our championship team is astounding… even though that team was better than the lakers and bucks championship team. Even on occasion during the regular season I see disrespect. I’ll never forget in 2020 when we blew out the lakers by 20 but espn only showed laker highlights like they slapped us 😂😂😂

You are dreaming thinking the Raps were better than the 2021 Bucks. The Bucks were an OT away from a 3-0 lead and that is without the massive Bledoe to Holiday upgrade and Giannis being a little better
@danielmarrello89992 жыл бұрын
@@jasonjanisewski78 lmfao that bucks team had a combination of Bledsoe and brogdon and had a way better bench. Also, the raptors had no OG and van vleet only emerged into the player he is today halfway through the series. as much as giannis has improved, the combination of gasol, kawhi, and og would’ve really slowed him down. It's interesting to watch from an outside perspective where the NBA organisation vision is for the league compared to the media, the NBA for decades has been working on making the game appealing to the international market and part of doing that is getting international players playing in the NBA and not just being part of the numbers but actually becoming top players, being MVPs but media especially old school cats like SAS hate this fact, they hate that Giannis is a two time MVP, an NBA champion and etc at every chance he gets he has tried to downgrade those accolades, with the MVPs SAS was the one fighting for Harden to be MVP, I believe he propped up LeBron James also and with Giannis championship he likes to reference the size of KD shoe that had he worn size smaller they would have beaten the bucks but fact remains they didn't, when a player almost hits a game winning buzzer beater that rims out you will never hear people reference that almost a year after it happened, KD as great of a shot he made ultimately he lost but let me not ramble too much and save my energy til the next time SAS or Stak or Perk say something stupid

everybody by now should have realised that steven a smith doesn't know what he's talking about. he just says dumb stuff because it gets ratings. i mean just look at JJ Redick trying not to burst out in laughter while SAS is talking. yea and btw, every advanced metric will tell you that Jokic is the MVP and it's not close. as of US sports media, they don't want foreign players to be the best in their leagues, plain and simple. they need to prop up Ja bcs when Bron and KD retire, the league belongs to Giannis, Embiid, Jokic and Doncic. and they don't want that.

Dude, in one video you’ve earned a subscribe. The media is so filled with former players like Perkins that don’t know how to analyse the game, and morons like Nick Wright who make outlandish statements like that to make themselves the story. They need people like you that can actual look objectively look at the game without bias and with actual insight. Giannis and Jok are the best 2 in the world right now. I’m a Nugget fans and I don’t give a F which order you have them in. They’re both incredible. Only player on their level right now is Embiid and I’d put him a slight 3rd. But Embiids the only one who gets the appropriate amount of love and coverage. Small market bias and lack of NBA marketing. And I’m glad you had the courage to mention xenophobia. Cos it’s there.
