Jesse said this was the most emotionally draining album he’s written quoted after this album was released in an interview. Jesse often speaks about how much he expects from himself and how great he wants his music to be and I would be more than happy to see that come true for him. To be as great as the likes of Lana Del Rey and Justin Timberlake, two of his greatest admirers. Such a talented guy. Hope he finds his touch. He’s still quite young w/ a long career ahead of him!

3:21 ... this part I can honestly relate to in my own way. I know it doesn't say anything but the way it sounds and gets louder, it feels like the sounds in your head when you think too much or have an anxiety attack, and then it all slows down like if you were trying to calm down with the following lyric saying "I'm back and forth, I think I'm going crazy I'm back and forth, I can't make up my mind I'm up and down, I'm never sati- I'm up and down, I'm never satisfied..." and around 4:48 you can kind of listen carefully to weak heavy breathing cry. Usually from anxiety attacks most of us go insane from all the negativity, dark thoughts, depression, suicide and so on that it makes us feel. As it goes away we are still recovering saying the lyric over again, while we're sobbing. Just a thought I've always had, I wonder if I'm not the only one.

i love this song so much. the sirens later on in the song feel unsettling and frightening then it gradually turns into something tranquil, peaceful, and comforting. kinda reminds me the calm before the storm but reversed. it also kinda says no matter how troubling or chaotic your life may be, there's always peace waiting for you on the otherside!
@Amber244262 жыл бұрын

A lot lyrics are wrong. This is what they are really saying: 0:00 [Verse 1] Lost and afraid, young and innocent but getting older I don't wanna be alone, I don't wanna be alone Sharper the blade is, the easier it scars your soul I don't wanna be alone, I don't wanna be alone 0:30 [Pre-Chorus 1] My current state is heavy Hope it's a phase or something 0:41 [Chorus] Don't let me go 1:00 [Verse 2] Up and away, I'm an alien, I need a moment I don't know what to believe All I wanna do is leave What can I say that would make you see, make you need me? Maybe I won't ever know, maybe I'll end up alone 1:30 [Pre-Chorus 2] Running in place (Circles, in circles with you) Don't mind me, out in a race (I didn't mean to be here) 1:42 [Chorus] Watch me go I don't wanna let you down So, promise you won’t let me drown 2:02 [Bridge] How can you feel the way that I'm feeling If you're not inside of my head? I got the pressure, it's pushing my buttons And making me think about death I got some mixed emotions about how I've been getting to all these checks Acting all funny because of the money It's making my tummy upset How can you feel the way that I'm feeling If you're not inside of my head? I got the pressure, it's pushing my buttons And making me think about death Somebody find me a balance Look what I did to myself and my friends Emotions are paying the rent, oh Emotions are paying the rent, oh 2:46 [Instrumental Interlude] 4:57 [Outro] I'm back and forth, I think I'm going crazy I'm back and forth, I can't make up my mind I'm up and down, I'm never sad I'm up and down, I'm never satisfied I'm back and forth, I think I'm going crazy I'm back and forth, I can't make up my mind I'm up and down, I'm never sad I'm up and down, I'm never satisfied I'm back and forth, I think I'm going crazy I'm back and forth, I can't make up my mind I'm up and down, I'm never sad I'm up and down, I'm never satisfied I'm back and forth, I think I'm going crazy I'm back and forth, I can't make up my mind I'm up and down, I'm never sad I'm up and down, I'm never satisfied

I've always liked this song. But I never realized just how much. Over the years, it's almost always one of the first songs I find myself absent-mindedly singing to myself. And no matter how many times I come back to it, this never gets old. Just now realizing that this has secretly been one of my favourite songs

the bit around 0:45 is my favourite part. I just close my eyes and I literally feel like I'm in another world. I just get this feeling with every single one of The Neighbourhood's songs. This album does not disappoint. Thank you.

I truly have to admit this song is so freaking underrated 🥺 I mean how can it possible a song like this expresses all my kind of feelings and emotions from being depressed to being totally fine? I could hear it 5 times a day for years and it would be never boring And it changes my mood A LOT. Wiped out will be my fav album from the nbhd and in general like forever🏝
