after looking at hyundai's warranty it looks like the first owner is getting a hell of a deal. 10yr 100k miles and they acknowledge you will track this and it's covered. honestly you dont need to modify this other than brake pads and tires, and fluids of course. you could get a lot of laps for pretty much just consumable and your monthly payment, sounds like a win to me

Good review of it on track. Bought mine back in 2019 and since then, have done over 50 autox events and 10 HPDE, it's a tough car to kill. Would also like to mention 90% of the time, I've ran 200TW tires on the car like RE71Rs, A052s and currently still on RT660s. 2 major issues I had were both front struts were blown and my heatshield on the downpipe broke off and is laying on top of the subframe so it rattles. Both issues doesn't affect the car's reliability at all and it's kind of expected since I 3 wheel (and even 2 wheel) this car quite a bit. I've also took 1st place in many events with it so it's a capable car that just needs a good driver behind the wheel. And on top of all this, it's my daily and only car. It's been a hell of a car and a high recommendation to anyone looking at getting into the world of motorsports. Wheel time is the most important thing if you want to become a better driver and this car will keep you out on track for the whole 20 min session.

As a Civic Type R fan I have to say Veloster N is really impressive especially with the Dct transmission and the cornering capabilities of this car is awesome not better then the Type R but still better then the other hot hatches in the segment the dct transmission definitely gives it a edge in straight line acceleration over the Type R though this car with the Dct transmission is pure value for Money in my opinion

"Why complain about the door plastics?" As someone who's daily driven a Honda Fit for 10 years, here's why: After a while, the plastic starts to change. I'm not sure if it gets softer or harder or just moves out of position a bit, but it squeaks like crazy, and drives you nuts. I don't expect a Hyundai to last that long, but if I'm surprised and it does, it'll probably have the same issue.
@speedacademydave3 жыл бұрын
Well, it does come with a 10-year 100k km warranty and they acknowledge you can take it to the track without voiding the warranty. Something to consider.

I daily drove a 2013 Veloster Turbo, and yea the plastics eventually squeaks. It drove me nuts. But again, unless you're paying luxury car money, you can't avoid it in any comparable make. I had squeaks in hondas, toyotas, mitsu, subaru...it's all the same. My old 1994 BMW 5 series wagon...that is a well built machine. No squeaks, no rattles.

How does the transmission on the DCT model work when in SPORT or N Mode, as far as shifting throughout the rev range? Is it left entirely to the driver to upshift and downshift at any desired point throughout the range (as if driving a true manual transmission), or does the onboard computer interfere with driver input at certain revs if no input is detected from the driver?

Fair comment! The DCT is way quicker but I'm sure there are still plenty of enthusiast drivers out there who will opt for the manual for the sheer driving pleasure and connectedness that comes with it. That said, I wasn't yearning for a manual in this car, the way the N group has tuned it, the DCT feels very much at home in a technological powerhouse of a car like this that also has e-dampers and an e-diff. The whole car feels very connected because all these systems are so well integrated together. The whole really is greater than the sum of its parts in this case.
