I grew trombonchino squash and spaghetti squash this year and took them to my son's preschool for the kids to try. I started to have this dream of a farm that started a few years ago and I am single so not married to a realest but for me, my mother who is also a dreamer, for some reason acts as my realest but has also started to get behind me in my dream of a farm!

Sometimes I feel we, as a society, need to not be so jaded and quick to find something offensive in every little action. It never even occurred to me that ANYONE could feel negatives towards Jess' approach to her garden, in leaving Jill the abundance that she has. She spent her time, money, and sweat equity in making sure her friend was walking into a fully stocked pantry - the thought that there are people out there being salty about it just boggles the mind. How can anyone see all the love and joy in her actions and think "wow, look at the mess she's leaving"? My goodness, we need to spend more time appreciating things, and less time finding faults in everything we see. It's Jess' garden still, it's Jill's inheritance of it - why have any negative thoughts towards any of it? It's not YOURS, there's no need to take it as a personal affront - appreciate it, or don't. But there's no need to pour out your negatives when they literally don't matter in the slightest to any of the actual people involved. Everyone can have an opinion about anything they want - that does not mean it's ok to push those opinions on others so that they can be needlessly hurt by them.

This is all so beautiful. You both give me so much hope that my prayers and dreams will come true one day when it’s my time. I have lived on my own since I was 16 and always have wanted a garden... but always felt like I needed to wait. Jessica you have truly taught me to be content with what I have now while still dreaming. At 27(almost 28) I finally have my first patio garden with flowers, 2 tomato plants and a strawberry bush. It’s small but it’s mine and I water it every night dreaming about one day being able to tend for a garden like yours.

For me it did not happen till I was nearly 70 years old. My garden on our 1 acre is hard for me. Back pain, expense etc but it is worth it all and it has actually improved my health overall. I praise God for making it happen. Jess has inspired me in so many ways too. I bought her book, The First Time Gardener, Growing Vegetables. You are never too old. Only believe and trust God to help you reach your dreams.

I needed to hear this today. We've been living in the desert for the past year and I am STRUGGLING with my garden. It's 105 today, going to be 111 in two days, all my tomato flowers are dropping, I have shade cloth up over everything, I'm spending a fortune on water, and it's so easy to want to give up. My dream is to move East and have a green, lush garden and a home we own. It's so unclear what we'll end up doing or where we'll be, but I'm going to hold on to this dream. Thanks, ladies.

We have our High Tunnel Greenhouse KIT. Danny has worked hard and built onto our chicken house and made several hoop houses. We've had our fruit trees in for years. We are Beekeepers. I’m in tears about your “swear words” my granny who passed away last year used to say “oh foot” I have no clue why or where it came from but she didn’t cuss much and especially not in front of us kids. I fell in love with gardening watching you just like Jill did....
