The NEW R6 Mark II: Why it was necessary, as the real 6D successor.

It's nice to hear the thoughts of a R5 shooter. I was a 6D shooter, then EOSR, next R6 and now I will be picking up the R6 mark II on launch day. I would have shot with the R6 for another 2yrs, but it's nice to know when I'm shooting real estate in 4k 60 I don't have to pace my shots. Always nice to see you post. Keep it up!

I am keeping my R6 and buying the R6 MK II as a second body. I really really hope there will be firmware updates to the MK II enabling it to shoot All-I and since it already shoots 6K 60fps externally, maybe add 4K 120 to external recording as well? I can only hope.

Don't you feel excited what the R5 Mark II will be? haha, especially with the Sony A7RV release.

@@Slipsch just as much as I was for the R5. I'm an architectural photographer and so I actually like low megapixel and better iso performance. My final output is always 10mp. If I were sports or landscape then the extra megapixels would be a need for me. Get the tool you will utilize.

@@JaredHoyman I shoot real estate too. Sometimes agents only require a maximum of 10mb for their MLS. But sometimes I shoot for developers for them to use on their website and posters for new launch condominiums. As photographers, we know megapixel does not matter, but where I come from, most of my clients ask me how many megapixels my camera can shoot. What camera I'm using, they said they had a bad experience with beginners pretending to be photographers and didn't get their money's worth. Which is weird, especially when iPhone can shoot 48 megapixels. They will think their iPhone produces better image quality. Believe it or not, bringing a bigger camera actually helps in gaining their trust. Currently, I'm saving up for the Red V Raptor for videos and planning to get the Fuji GFX 100s or its successor for photos since the new 20-35 F4 lens was launched which is about 16-28 equivalent. Will getting both of them improve my photography and videography exponentially? Probably not, but it gives my customer the impression that I'm more of a "pro" and at the same time, as men, nothing beats playing with new shiny toys and convincing your wife that it's required for your work. YMMV :')

Hi Manny! Great video, cool editing - big thumbs up my friend!!! 👍👍👍 I own the R6, I felt left out with the 1.6 firmware for the R6 lol. Something for everyone except me 😢 But instead, the R6 got a new camera, so I could sarcastically say, we finely did get a firmware update for the R6, it just costs $2500 bwahahaha 😊

I own both the R6 and R5. I shoot wedding photos and video. IMO, Canon needed to put out the R6 Mk II. The overheating in the R6 made it undependable for professional video purposes. The R6 Mk II seems to have made this camera viable for a few years to come. Could Canon have simply fixed the overheating like they fixed overheating in the R5? Yes. But they didn’t. And if they wanted to continue to reap the benefits of the R6 in the market they needed to fix this with the Mk II.

How does the 4K 60FPS video mode compare in terms of R5 vs R6 Mark-II? Note: I'm referring to the original R5, not the R5C. I saw your video from around a year ago that compares 4K 60FPS in the R5 vs R6, but I really need to know how the R5 with its new firmware upgrade compares to R6 Mark-II.

Good chatty video - enjoyed listening to your thoughts. I would be happy with an R5 MKII just to have a small bump in megapixels and more video special features, but it’s a solid camera and I don’t have much to grumble about with it.

Thank you for your kind words! I enjoy open dialogue about these cameras. More megapixels are to be expected for R5 Mk ii, but what more video features may be worth the upgrade?

@@magnus547 To be honest I don't need anything else from my R5 now that it doesn't overheat. All I need now is a B and C cam which matches the C-Log of the R5 for two person interviews. I'm currently using my old 5DMKIV and a 5DS as B and C cams and I struggle to match the footage nicely. Do you think an R7 is my answer here, or a 6DMKII (at a higher price).
