Being Japanese, Wano arc has been something I not only enjoyed, but became something I envied. In my interpretation of Wano, I think Oda puts a lot of social critique of Japan in factors like the polution (Minamata disease), work culture (intense hours, work environment, Haken system etc), power and political structure (historic political influence of US over Japan and the LDP through economic and military power) etc.. I thought the comparison was pretty clear in the part abou the 20 Years stuff as the Lost Decades is a popular economics term used when talking about Japan. It started as the Lost Decade, and now its the 3 Decades (would've been around the Lost 2 Decades point when Oda planned Wano). With my country failing drastically (a lot of Westerns love to tell me otherwise when they dont know jack shit about anything lol), I sometimes wish the real life Wano gets the Straw Hat treatment.

I think Wano is up there but I do definitely feel like it was a bit too big for it's own good lol. Lots of great moments (some of the best in the entire series), but it doesn't have the feeling of back to back hype that a smaller and tighter arc like marineford has. But I agree. Not as bad as some make it out to be

- Now while this episode is focused on Momo becoming the new Shogun we do get a lot of info about Tama like the fact that her Kibi Kibi no mi / Millet-Millet Fruit can only last a month were then then animal can choose to stay loyal (she is just too precious calling Speed mom), that her parents died working in a factory then taking in by Tenguyama by the age of at least 3 (met Ace at 4), but also a big reveal in SBS 105 that her family name that was written on her parents graves is Kurozuki making her related to Orochi, Kanjuro, Higurashi, & Semimaru (Randy Troy predicted this) - Tama was placing kasa on Jizo statues (protectors of travelers & children) is a bit of a reference to the Japanese folklore Kasa Jizo where after a poor man gave the statues each a hat he couldn’t sell & after he told his wife then going to sleep they came to his home where they return the favor by giving them treasure like coins & food - With Tenguyama taking Tama reminds me that Tengu of mythology where there are various stories of them spiriting children away where they teach them magic - I love they extend Toko’s flashback really showing that Yasu was indeed a great man while I thought that him not eating a Smile while sharing the pain of the people who were affected by it like his adopted daughter Toko would be interesting this as about the same effect - Also with the volcano erupted reminded me that since Wano has Sea Prism Stone which has a compound called “pyrobloin" is ejected into the air by volcanic eruptions & once it comes in contact with water vapor becomes Island / Sea Clouds

I think the chills is mainly due to the fact that Wano's over and you feel it. And the arc after arc of foreshadowing of the crew getting here and having that ultimate battle is finally done. I find it odd and fascinating at the same time that when they say 20 years of struggle, you kinda feel it too due to how much Oda placed so much importance in the crew ever getting to Wano. Friggin masterful storytelling. Also, can we appreciate how the portrayal of Momo having to grow up overnight is done in a literal sense? He's only 8. For him, Kin'emon and a few others, it's only been a few months at best since all that tragedy happened. It's a literal never-ending struggle for the group. They have yet to really have the time to rest. Momo, for someone so young, is wise beyond his years and it shows with his choice in keeping Wano closed from the outside world. Reviving Wano is no joke. Good thing he has such great retainers. As for my top 5 favorite arcs: 1. Wano 2. Dressrosa 3. Return to Sabaody Arc (2 years after; not completely an arc but it's too pivotal for me to consider it as anything less than) 4. Zou 5. Thriller Bark

To me it was pretty obvious he didn't "eat" the devil fruit, from my understanding one can not share a devil fruit, Yasu ate the same fruit that Toko took a bite from, thus shouldn't have gained the laughter side effect. Idk, but either way the scene was very emotional.

It is crazy how many people just watch anime for the fights all I’m here for is the story if it’s not a good story and just has a lot of fights, I’m not even gonna bother to say it’s a good anime I mean it could be good, but could be 1 million times better with a storyline I always do like the fights though, but the storyline always makes it so much better you got to understand what’s happening, if the whole things about strength and how strong they are, and what they can do, it won’t be as enjoyable as it is, if there was a whole storyline, and why they’re trying to do that for Luffy it’s just for fun and to do some thing he enjoys saying for what I want to do, I love this type of episode

Top 5 in order from highest to lowest. 1. Water seven/enies lobby(lets be real its one huge ark like wano) 2. Impel down 3.Sabody archipelago (this one hurt) 4. Whole cake island 5. Arlong park I will say wano is probably like 7. Bug moms amnesia was dumb, and i personally think the ending was rushed a bit. That being said holy fuck this ark goes crazy. I feel like smiles are one of the most cruel things oda has done to the one piece people, and i tear up just thinking about how they are free to have an actuall smile now, even if its all the time. Plus gear 5 is probably my favorite twist in all of media. Ive never been as hype as i was at the end of 1043 and 1044. I honestly feel like wano feels a lot like dressrosa. They both were these massive epic stories with some of the crazies highs, and that makes every second inbetween those big moment worse by comparison. And the anime team did not do any favors with their choices on timing. While wano has its flaws, it still has some of the best moments in the entire series, and you cant deny it. P.s. fuck kanjuro. I wish denjuro would have slit his throat as he tried to escape.

Got a theory Kaido maybe BM may have been ejected to surface through eruption, If Kaido wasnt already dead n didnt drown in lava I could see Oda using eruption as an out for if he planned or ever wanted to bring Kaido and or BM back, Both were loved by lot of people when comes to villains, Would be wild Kaido n maybe BM ejected by eruption their unconscious bodies fly miles away n they eventually waken n recover n lay low for years only to plan their revenge, Would be wild also if they didnt know other also survived n coincidentally they plan their revenge at same time n same place only for them both to be shocked af to see other alive so many years later… Just a theory though, Not sure if Big Mom has anything for lava, Saw explosion but didnt see her hit lava so susoected she used bombs to blow barrier off and last ditch effort gave life to something to save herself, Like she couldve given life to lava and lava alive is what ejected them both in what appeared to be an eruption, Also we see a drsgon flying out of dust cloud then see Momo flying over festival moments later, Didnt make sense to me why Momo was in eruption cloud or why hed fly through it on way from ground to festival, So thought they possibly wanted us to assume eruption dragon was just Momo too but again I find it lil sus Momo would be or go anywhere near eruption…

Ruff, I think that it's not that older anime drag and One Piece doesn't, it's that you (and all of us) are so invested in what's happening that we don't notice. It's way more noticeable when you're not binging it, but Wano did drag a lot in the first and second act, even outside of the anime. Still goated arc though, people are dumb for saying it's not good.

I actually just did a tier list of all the arcs in OP and bases on reading the manga mainly, tuning into the anime occasionally, it's my 5th favorite arc rn after W7/EL>WCI>Marineford>Sabaody. I think up until the last 2 or 3 chapters of it where Oda rly skipped over things he set up and had the odd-feeling framing for the final Hiyori moment (despite me loving Hiyori) it was actually tied for #2 with WCI tho

The Vivre Cards are contradictory to a lot of things, I don't tend to use them as a reference I mean the manga does have Yasu ask Toko if he could have a bite too that feels like clear implication enough. *Spoiler Warning if you're not caught up to the Manga end of Wano* I would put Wano in my top 5, anime Wano has probably exceeded manga Wano though. I think the picture I had in my mind for expectations beforehand though had areas not entirely met, I think a lot of people felt annoyed that Zoro's history wasn't fully delved into in Wano, we didn't even get scenes of him visiting Ryuma's grave or even meeting Onimaru (I also still think we could've had Enma and kept Shusui, Sandai Kitetsu has kinda been the weak link for a while), they did Carrot so dirty in this arc too; spent so much time in Whole Cake endearing us to her and Pedro, killing off Pedro so she could shine in Su Long and then, nothing! Robbed of revenge so Nekomamushi could get a W, robbed of growth when then installed as leader of Zou (even though Inu and Neko could handle Yonko commanders but she couldn't handle 700m Peros), and robbed of agency by using Pedro - the guy who wanted to join Roger on his crew and became a pirate - as a reason to convince her to take the role, nor even give her a proper farewell with the crew. Then we didn't even put Yamato in the crew, pulling a very sudden 180 while like Inu and Neko also undermining Momo's desire to let them go off without worrying about him. Introducing the raid suit only to destroy it also felt a bit of a tease immediately undermined, and I was hoping that fighting an army of Zoans would give Chopper a more beneficial combat upgrade. I also think people suffered from the fact that Oda was quoted in saying things that they didn't feel like were met; that it would 'make Marineford look small' or that Luffy couldn't just win 'with a punch'. But we got so much from Wano, so many massive lore reveals as well as so many big twists, it truly is a worthy end to the Yonko saga.

I am unironically HAPPY they kept Orochi alive! He was such a scummy person that Oda went "nah, he is SO scummy and I have created too many people that want his head.. Oh I know!" And gave him a power that basically guaranteed he could be killed over and over again as revenge. The only part I disliked is that Denjiro got the last kill instead of Hiyori. They both suffered under him, but I'd argue Hiyori deserved it more, but I'm glad she was there to watch him burn and die nonetheless!

I would rank Wano a solid A but not S. I was in Wano for 2-3 years and it didn't feel that long to me but I get it for people who've been in Wano reading week to week for 5 years! Every week, every chapter theorizing some things Oda teased but still left us hanging. Still have so many unanswered questions and instead you getting every other chapter of Momonosuke whining about not being able to make flame clouds or Raizo and Fukurokuju being in the same position for like 5 chapters which is like 2 months of time of seeing the same thing. The hyped fights kept cutting away to these moments that are just mediocre. 5 years and Kaido's flashback not answering the question of why he wants to die or any question at all. Not enough about Yamato either. Many thought it was going to be a Zoro arc but nope, Zoro didn't get the Sanji backstory treatment. Just so many disappointments. A lot of focus on the Akazaya 9, and yet no Usopp moment, Brook also underused again. Stakes didn't feel as high because honestly, the strawhats did not have to fight this battle if they did not want to. So many things that were a disappointment even though there were a lot of highs so I think it's fair that it belongs in A or B tier. I actually like Dressrosa more. Doflamingo is more interesting than Kaido at this point. It will never be S, that's reserved for Marineford, Water 7/Ennies Lobby, Sabaody because those arcs have you on the edge holding your breath.

Great reaction as always...also have you watched To Your Eternity that shit is heartbreaking. Top 5 OP arcs not in any specific order. Water 7/Enies Lobby (I clump these together). Sabaody Marine Ford Wano Egghead. Fair mentions Alabasta and Dressrosa Whole Cake And East Blue is great to it's the start of the Journey but the series gets significantly better which is fantastic a story is supposed to get better not worse. My least favorite Arcs Little Garden Long Ring Long Land Fishman Island and Thriller Bark (it's hard to put the Thriller Bark because the final parts of it are actually great but as a whole I deduct points).

Vivre cards also wether correct or wrong is lot of peoples go-to for Yamatos Gender, Im not going to get into it here but fact said he didnt eat fruit definitely raises eyebrows on Yamatos official gender, Im not gunna say shes female, Not gunna say hes a male, But pronouns from Manga, Sub n Dub n Vivre Cards arent enough to give myself at least a definitive answer, But Im fine with that I dont really care what Gender Yamato is myself, Wants to be Oden good nuff for me to call em Oden…

My favorite arcs are the lore heavy arcs. Wano was great and beautiful, but to me it was mainly a “power up arc”. I definitely loved and enjoy it but I wouldn’t consider it a favorite. Currently Egghead has taken that spot. Previously it was Whole Cake. And I’ve been waiting for Elbaf impatiently cause I KNOW that one will be it for me. I feel it in my soul.
