David and Lisa journey to Trondheim and a Gnome Council meeting. On the way they encounter a pair of poachers selling a Gorilla and several Chimpanzees to a research doctor. David and Lisa arrive late, interrupting the council meeting as the King, Queen and Council Members discuss human's destructive rampage on their beloved Earth. Something must be done. The King proclaims David, Royal Environmental Knight to lead the New World of The Gnomes in the battle to protect and preserve our precious planet.
David requests his first mission be to stop the two poachers from capturing more gorillas and chimps. The King so decrees. David, Lisa and their nephew, Tomte, journey to the Congo jungle. Assisted by local Gnomes, an elephant and jungle bird, they locate a family of Gorillas and warn them about the poachers. For others it's too late. They've already been captured.
In a daring and bold rescue, the Gnomes release the caged animals and catch the poachers in their own nets until authorities arrive. Tomte is proud of their accomplishment, but his pride is short lived when David reminds him there are many more poachers making millions of dollars and there are fewer and fewer Gorillas and Chimpanzees for future generations to enjoy.
